Not dump, it comes from official sorce in Vido. It is only usable to reflash your tablet if you have problems or for cooking custom rom. In the future it is expectable that i can access firmware uopdates...lets hope...

Vido doesn't update theyer download site since january, since then they have dozens of updates not posted in theyr site, only internal sources in china. This is official, if you dont trust dont use it, just simple as that. I will post here future updates if i get it from my source in china.

Does anyone know how to flash these units? How do you boot into Recovery/Flash mode? I've tried holding down the vol+ and multiple presses on the power button but it doesn't work...

No worries I worked it out.

  • Google and download Rokchip Batch Tool v1.6 and unzip it
  • Switch off the tablet
  • Whilst holding down Vol + plug in the tablet
  • Windows should say it has detected a new device and ask for drivers
  • Point it to the appropriate driver folder within the unzipped Rockship folder - Drivers loaded

Unplug the tablet.

  • Download the new FW and unzip the .img file
  • Launch the Rockchip Bathc Tool
  • At the top browse to the location of the unzipped FW .img file
  • Holding down Vol+ connect the tablet to the PC
  • Rockchip Tool will see it
  • Press upgrade

The FW is still 4.1.1 but does have a newer date on it. IT is isn't rooted so you need to use the Root method mentioned in another post. The FW comes with has a number of Chinese apps stuck in there which can not be deleted in the normal way...

Not sure if it my imagination, or the sun isn't shinning as brightly, but the screen seems brighter! Maybe it is wishful thinking?

I am pulling the 04.20 stock firmware down and will reupload it to http://www.rockchipfirmware.com after it is done. I will also start working on a TNT custom rom as I have a device on hand at present to work with.

Cheers!

Roman

Stock firmware is hosted now on this page: http://www.rockchipf...re.com/node/138

Also, if you appreciate what I just did :) you may consider doing it yourself for others! Every registered user is free to upload files on www.rockchipfirmware.com and we welcome both custom and stock roms as the whole point is to be a nice big US/Western repository for this stuff!

Thanks,

Roman

Maybe this is a stupid question but being a noob in flashing android tablets I ask it anyway:is it possible to flash the vido n80rk with the image
provided by Roman2025 ,on the same manner as explained by Palexr? I ask this because when you read the description given with Roman's image there is
mentioned it is repacked and above all it is rooted. Don't wanna brick my brandnew tablet
