after a long yr. n-a half I finally found a solution to fix our lil "root problem"
1: you MUST know how to use adb , if not then research because our lil baby won't let you copy-n-paste w/o permission being denied
2: you need ANOTHER ROOTED CUSTOM ROM CM7 OR HIGHER, I used the one from my phone, unzip the ROOTED CUSTOM ROM onto your pc
3: now inside the extracted rom go to system/xbin look for the ssh & su files copy-n-paste them in a folder so you know where they
are, now go to system/app & look for the superuser.apk copy-n-paste to the same folder as other 2 files
4: hopefully you already have the android sdk kit downloaded if not go download it because you need the android-adb folder from the
bundle kit (its gon' install 2 folders android-sdk & android-adb we want the adb folder)
5: go back to the folder where your files & superuser.apk at copy-n-paste them in the android-adb folder on your pc make sure it's
the files & .apk not the whole folder
6: turn on device & hook it up to the pc with the usb chord, go to the android-adb folder on your pc & open up command prompt
(shift & right click on mouse)
7: hopefully you're familiar with using adb because you gon' have to push the flies & .apk to your device, now in the command prompt
type adb push ssh /system/xbin/ssh (do the same for the su file adb push /system/xbin/su)
8: now push the su file only to the bin folder type adb push su /system/bin/su
9: push the superuser.apk to the app folder with the exact spelling, adb push Superuser.apk /system/app/Superuser.apk
10: now change the permission type adb shell (this should pop up #), then type chmod 755 /system/xbin/ssh (do the same for the su
file chmod 755 /system/xbin/su)
11: for the su file in the bin folder it's 777, chmod 777 /system/xbin/su
12: Superuser.apk is 644, chmod 644 /system/app/Superuser.apk , now exit out of adb shell (type exit)
13: now reboot, type adb reboot
I hope this help out all those having "permission denied" problems it worked for me, now if you know your way around git there's a
fix over there for our device here's the link https://github.com/pandigital/android_build/commit/4fce921b8a6c36b258d496e060c766e61a0e8f1d , but I'm not too familiar with github
so like I said this worked for me & here's the link where I got my info http://unleashedprepaids.com/showthread.php?tid=7459&page=15
Now after your device has rebooted go check your root status by running one of your apps that need root permission like es explorer
or root explorer. I don't have es explorer I deleted it but I got root explorer & in it I only have to press the r/w r/o tab it's
gon switch back-n-forward. I think in es explorer you go to menu options select settings & scroll down to root options & check it
But anyway I hope this help, didn't mean to write an essay it might look like alot but it's really not
PS: shouts out to "wilhelmlee" whoever he might be for putting that info out there
