Actually the second ;) Look at my thread in the Novo9 Subforum, twrp and cwm is available for download, try it out, I think it should work for Onda :)

Hi kant,
You can not uninstall it.
But you can flash the original one if you get it's dump/image.
Also if you flash any of the stock firmwares (1.32, 1.21,...) you will recover the stock recovery.

You wouldnt need to uninstall CWM, you would image over it. But right now we are still waiting for the drivers from the Onda v972 to be ported into the TWRP rom

Even better if can get touch to work in the cwm or get twrp to work. I would prefer twrp myself.

Hey Steve Do you think you can change the CWM Recovery img and add touch? Or even better port over TWRP Touch Recovery?

As Arctablet said, it's not really necessary. We have one working CWM now, and the devs should use their valuable time to concentrate on making ROM/Kernels. No need to enforce a more comfortable version. :drinks: not yet

TWRP is no good on the v973, touchscreen drivers do not load, total waste of time. CWM to the rescue, as it supports the buttons on the side, so you can use home to navigate and power to select. Who needs touch in recovery really? Just need a working recovery, which CWM is the only one that works for V973. Found out the hard way with TWRP, and had to flash CWM manually using adb push and cat when booted into TWRP recovery. I could not even get the V973 to boot normally after issuing adb reboot recovery once TWRP was installed. I tried all sorts of things, and it just kept going into TWRP. Having used CWM for years on a variety of devices, TWRP seems to be crap IMHO.

I kept having issues with CWM, I could not boot into recovery after flashing CM 10.1. Not sure if I needed to reinstall recovery.img/CWM or not. Since I had to reflash via PheonixSuit, I tried a modified Onda firmware, that had ArcTools, which allowed me to install a working TWRP. While I like CWM and have always used it, seems to have some issues on the Onda V973. I also had problems with files I saved on the internal sdcard. They seemed to disappear when booting into recovery. Though I had bad internal storage or something. Anyway I had to give up on CWM, and now with a working TWRP not sure I will go back. Though have always used CWM and its on my other android devices. So TWRP isn't crap as I previous stated, and CWM does still need work for the Onda V973 v1.
