Hi Creative Dude,

I've applied the boot animation change and that's fine ....

I've also spent an age sorting my music out so thought I'd apply the change for the volume keys

I renamed the original files in the specified directory and pasted the new ones in and turned the tab off and then back on again.

The volume key did not work nor does the power key for putting the tab to sleep.

I then put the original files back and restarted, my keys still don't work.

Confused and wondering if you have any idea's ? Does it cache or write to a DB ?

The only thing I can do now with the physical keys is if I press and hold power for seconds the tab does turn off directly (does not give me a are you sure warning it just turns off).

Cheers

I suspect if your file names are correct. They must have the extension .kl and placed in /system/usr/keylayout
I suggest seeing the files using ES explorer

Thanks for the response, The file names are correct and in the correct directory, I copied the originals to my external SD card in case something went wrong before putting the new ones in. I do use es file explorer..

Guess its just a strange one ...

Anyway, I could not live with it so after the usual age to get the correct driver recognised by windows 8 I've flashed the revision c release from Roman.

And there starts another tale ...

So, thanks for the reply and help, all other methods and instructions you have given were spot on and of great help, I'll put this one down to experience and maybe Ployer have put differing hardware in some models?.

Cheers
