I have a second batch Chrystal. original Rom, routed and apps only from Google play. One day the battery went low. It warned for low battery and the tablet switched itself off. After a long recharge it would not start up again. No boot, no recovery. Nothing with hdmi connected (checking a faulty screen). When connected to usb or charger the left upper corner on the back gets warm but no boot. Nothing shows up in device manager too. Opened up the tablet to check the battery. Its fully discharged so its not charging either. A specialist told me that its probably not the battery. They don't go faulty that sudden. (??)
Has anyone an idea ?

i had faced the same problem the very first day I got my crystal, it booted, worked fine, and it was time for a first time charge- I accidentally put the charging pin into the headphone hole, since it is identical with the charging point except a pin inside it, and then I made a reboot only to never start again and then I too felt the heat on the same area you mentioned., I guess you too did the same.. anyways I returned mine back to ainol india from where I purchased it and they sent a replacement withing 3 days. moreover I am not sure if this was the reason for the failure of crystal.

Hi, Mine is always Usb charged. Sending back costs more than half a new one. They failed to respond on my E-mail due to Chinese New year. I am still waiting.

You might want to try the "deep" brick method in the unbricking thread and see if jumping the 5/6 pins get it to show up in the device manager.
If I've helped you set-up your new tablet, unbrick your device or if you use and enjoy my ROM's Crystal Clear or Anti-Hero, please consider a donation, even if it is small it will help!
I will use the donations to pay the monthly file hosting fees and other development costs.

The reseller came with the brilliant idea to poke with a needle in the reset hole (?????. If I charge it, with charger or usb, the Realtek chip in the upper left corner gets really hot. From the mainboard to the battery I get 0,9 volts. Seems to me not enough to charge. The tablet was routed but it "runs" the original stock rom. Never flashed it.

Ainol Crystal's don't have a reset button like that, the equivalent for the Crystal is to hold down the power button for ten seconds. The Ainol Hero has the reset button that you can poke with a pin and its located in the microphone hole.
