Really? If you leave the device in horizontal mode the car keeps pushing to the right or no? I found another Slatedroid user with the same issue, and I'm trying to discover if it's a hardware problem or v1 of roman's custom ROM...

No, it will go straight unless i tilt the tab, running v2.

Ok, I'll encourage myself and try to make bkps to install release v2 and let you people know. Thanks, will!

@anyone,

If someone with v1 can test g-sensor in NFS Most Wanted or Beach Buggy Blitz I'll appreciate. I want to know if all MOMO12 or just a few has this g-sensor problem.

Thanks again!

EDIT:Installed Release 2. Unfortunely, tilt problems remains...

In other hand, tablet seems to be most responsive, with better memory usage (in release1, aways around 380~420 free RAM; now, in release2, with same apps and widgets, around 480~530 free RAM)

Or is it just placebo?

Method that worked:
Use Windows XP computer
Hold down Vol -
Connect USB to computer
Press and hold Power button while still holding Vol - until computer beeps and recognises device.

Hope that this is helpful to someone.
Best regards
Matthew

Thank you very much Matthew! Worked like a charm!
Thanks also to Roman for the great job, the release is super, it seems to me that everything runs faster. No more clock-reset problems :)
Antutu scored 11 850, how much are your results?

Hi guys, I just ordered my Momo 12 today, and since I live in China I hope it's going to arrive tomorrow! :yahoo: I had a play with one in a computer market near where I live, but it's nearly 300 RMB cheaper to buy it on Taobao, the biggest Chinese shopping website. I was so impressed I just came straight home and ordered one, or at least, my wife did since she's Chinese and my reading and writing are not up to the job yet.

Anyway, the question I wanted to ask is does Roman's firmware still support Chinese language? It mentions on the website that all the Chinese apps are stripped out, which is great, but since both me and my wife will be using it we want to be able to switch between English for me and Chinese for her, just to make using it better for both of us. We'll probably use a mix of English and Chinese language apps too, but Chinese language support is a must for my wife. Any help much appreciated, and I look forward to being an active member of the community.

Hi

I think you can change to Chinese language with romans rom, I say think because I can't read Chinese, but when typing Chinese into translate.google I can see some off the signs are similar.
Just made some more investigation, there is two flavors of Chinese. :-)
I have had my momo for some month,and are very happy with the tablet

The Momo 12 is one of the most well built China Tabs (one of the better built of ANY tablet) that I have used. The design is excellent and the quality is very good. The screen they use is also the best I have seen in any China tab and I am 95% sure it is the exact same model screen used in one of the Asus Transformer Prime tablets.

How would Ployer 10.1 IPS tablets compare to this?

Hey doogsville, did it arrive yet? First impressions?

Also, does TNT ship internationally (Scandinavia)?

Hi guys, I got the next day! Well, I am very close to Shenzen where they are made I believe, and where the supplier is. What can I say, I'm delighted. We're already talking about buying another one, or possible the Momo 20. I can't believe how good the display is. To be honest, the number one thing I wanted it for is reading PDF's. Living here in China, it's difficult, and expensive, to get English language books and magazines, so I have a lot of PDF's. What a difference it makes reading them on the tablet instead of my laptop. So far I've been doing a lot of reading, and playing some games, including Need for Speed, which looks amazing. I only wish I could drive the car properly.

The build quality is excellent. I cannot tell you how nice it is to buy a Chinese product in China that is well made. I would say that about 95% of the stuff I buy here is poor quality. The Chinese are obsessed by price, and while they can make excellent quality goods for the export market, most of the stuff they make for the domestic market is really, really poor quality. You get used to things feeling cheap and breaking easily here. When I picked up the Momo I was really surprised and happy with how solid it feels.

I'll leave the stock firmware on it for now, but when we buy the next one I'll put Roman's firmware on the 12.

I would never have bought it were it not for the opinions and advice given by people here, so thank you one and all!

For those having issues getting the device into firmare flash mode:

I was having the issue where it would get into flash mode and the computer would recognize it but it would quickly kick itself out of the mode and disconnect. The trick to getting it to stay was playing around with how long I kept holding the power button after releasing the volume down button. After a few tries, I was able to find the right balance and it stayed in flash mode and I was able to flash the firmware successfully.

@nikonx

Yes, I have the same issue. I actually work-around it by using a firmware tool I got from another forum. You connect the device while it is turned on via USB cable then press a button in the program to reboot into flash mode. Honestly I am not sure why all flashing tools don't have this very simple functionality.

Otherwise the only thing I have found to do is basically hold down the physical keys during the whole flash process which gets tedious but does work.

@Roman2025,

Can you confirm if this is a new fw for MOMO12? 'Cos the changes are the same from the previous one...

Hello to everybody. I got a momo12 a couple of days ago and I'm trying to update the firmware with the Roman's one (reading your entusiastic comments) but I'm encountering problems, or better I'm not able to make the momo switch in flash mode. I'm following the procedure that everybody knows (and it is even repeated here in the forum) using RKbatchtool 1.5 but nothing happens. I have one PC with W7 and one Pc with XP; I tried both. Keeping Vol- and power buttons pushed I do not have any result from W7 while in XP, "usb attempt to do something icon" appears, I execute the manual driver installing linking to the 32bit driver among the RKbatchtool folders and a popup advices me that this file does not include hw information - installing failed-. In the RKbatchtool the grey squares remain ... grey. I have the doubt that tablet is not able to go in firmware update mode but I tried all the possible sequences among - connecting usb cable - push vol- - push power on/off- keep them pushed until my fingers cried. The only result I obtained is that now, when I switch on MOMO, a "red external frame" flickers during boot.
Has anyone the same problem ? Has anyone a suggestion ? Is there a way to check intermediate step, for example to be sure that firmaware update mode works? Alternative way to reach the same result? Thank you in advance
