When the device powers on the rotation works fine until I use a few apps. I noticed that after awhile the rotation would stop working if I rotated the device. The problem is fixed when I reboot but comes back again.

Anyone experience this?

Go into the build.prop (its in the system folder)

For rotation fix try changing ro.sf.gsensorposition=0 to ro.sf.gsensorposition=5.

Thanks for the tip, unfortunately it didn't work. It seems that the problem occurs when the device locks itself after a period of inactivity. :/

my device came with 1115v2 and its build no.20121116. then i updated to 1219 after then i update to 0128, then cm10.1 and then anti-hero by fuser, then i realise that 1219 ROM is the best so i downgrade it to 1219.now the Tab is behaving same as you described,rotation works fine until the few apps then suddenly it stops working after restart it works some time and then stops after 5,6 minutes. anyone here to help us.even it is working and not bricked but i want to flash with amlogic burning tool that use for bricked tabs ,any suggestion?

My rotation stops working as soon as I lock the device or when it auto-locks, is it the same with yours?

The same happened to my Hero whilst on ROM 1115v2. The screen would stop rotating after auto or manual lock.
This was the same for me using ROM 1219. Unfortunately after a few days on this ROM (1219) the g-sensor died locking the x and y axis at -19.6º and giving a error code of 0x.fa within the BMA250 accelerometer file. I've since tried every ROM available but the outcome is the same, I have NO auto rotate when the tablet is turned from landscape to portrait the only time the screen will auto rotate is when you start a app which has a default orientation of landscape or portrait.
I now use ultimate screen rotation app so I can force lock orientation.
The only fix for me is a new BMA250 accelerometer chip which I haven't had done as yet. I would normally do the work myself but the chip has no legs to resolder it to the board so it really needs doing professionally. I have considered trying a reflow on the chip as I have a mini heatgun for such work but haven't had the time to do so.

If this issue belongs to hardware then it should not work at start up ,it was working before installing ROMs. BTW mine is working good from yesterday,I have donethese steps
1-3wipes
2- iinstall ROM1219
3- 3 wipes
4- install ROM again
5- 3wipes
Now I'm not installing much appps and it is working till now.i f I found any error I will report here.

Glad to hear you've resolved your issue. Maybe the clean install of ROM has reset your accelerometer and kicked it back into correct operational order!
It is strange though how multiple flashes of the same ROM seems to repair certain issues, I have also noticed this.

I also have the same issue. Rotation does not work at all. X an Y Axis stuck . Bma calibration shows 0xfa.I have done several wipes and many firmware but unable to restore sensor to its working state. Is there any other way to get it working.....

I find it stupid that this issue exists. Doesn't Ainol test these type of problems? It's pretty obvious to spot with simple tests.

After using three days Atleast my problem is solved.if anyone has problem he should try to reinstall firmware twice .

I double that. This has happened to me multiple times while developing my ROM and the double firmware install with "3 wipes" done twice has solved the problem every time. Also though, you need to know what your build.prop g-sensor settings are and make sure they are correct. If the regular firmware install doesn't work, use the CM10 automated install first and then do the double firmware/wipe install.

Oooooooooooooooh yes yes you are absolutely 100000% right, when this problem occurred I installed cm10 but there was no sound and WiFi didnt work then I installed again 1219 twice, and my problem was solved ,u r really genius my friend,

Haha, too bad I'm not smart enough to figure out why it's necessary to do all these extra steps like double flashing the ROM. The CM10 automated install works though because it flashes the device back to the 1115 bootloader and boot.img because proceeding. It was a really smart idea on the original posters part.

@ maxmax316 - In Ainols defence they have swapped the accelerometer to a different type, (although a little late in the day)
@ fuser-invent - For my own sanity and piece of mind I tried flashing:
1115v2 with 3wipes 5 times
1219 with 3wipes 5 times
0128 with 3 wipes 5 times
Then back to the best ROM (Anti-Hero) by some guy???
Outcome is x + y axis are still stuck.
I'm going to order a new sensor and get it swapped out.
@ qasidakbar - Probably time to order a new sensor, I give up looking for a fix.

I also have done several wipes and flashed all the stock roms including cm10 many times but unable to restore sensor to its working state. X and Y axis is still dead. May be it is hardware fault. Im in India, and not so professional to do the chip replacement. I have also contacted Ainolindia service center but they still not replyed my problem.

Did both of you try changing the g-sensor lines in the build.prop? Have you tried using the AML USB burning software with a NAND erase to go 100% back to a clean install? It's risky because the software is finicky but would gaur enter that it was a hardware fault if it doesn't work.

If you did and none of that other stuff worked there are g-sensor calibration apps in the market that might be able to unlock it. If that doesn't work then its probably a hardware failure.

I also tried changing the build.prop rotation value, but unable to solve the issue.

For AML flah, I do want to take so serious risk as I read in the forum that most of the user have bricked their hero or their emmc partition were messed.

I read somewhere that when register is 0xfa system or driver does not see the sensor. The driver should add the condition where register is 0xfa. May be bma250 driver issue and it needs to be updated. If someone can compile the kernel with addition into the bma250.c , I hope the sensor got working. Thanks....

my rotation problem exists again , i don't know why,i flashed with aml burning tool,and again use 1115-->1207-->1219 but the problem still exists, when i restarts the tablet my rotation works fine but after some time it stops working even z-device checker also show nothing, but after sometime or after restarting it works normal.

any suggestion please!!
