[The Incinerator]

His method of updating the firmware is slightly flawed.The power cable should be avoided IMO. I got it done. Follow the steps and you will get it updated too.

Download the firmware from the link My link
Download RK Batchtool from the link My link
Extract the both the Firmware and RK batchtools and keep them in a folder at a specific location in the computer :eg desktop or D: drive.
Now the most important part.

Do not use the power cable,just charge your X700 above 50%.
Switch off the tablet.
Connect the usb cable first to the Computer at the back not usb front header .
Now press both power and Volume + button and attach the USB cable to the tablet at the same time.
Leave the Power and Volume + buttons as soon as you get the Windows detection sound.
Now go to Control Panel of your PC and you will see an unrecognized device there.
Now right click on it and install the drivers that you had extracted in the RK batch tool folder.
Start RK batchtool it will show a green icon,on the left.

Rest is same......Open RKBatchTool and if it is chinese click the first button on the bottom left and select the bottom item on the list
Select the path to your firmware with the ... button on the top right
If the device is green it means it can upgrade if it's a different color restart the process from begining.
Press the upgrade button and wait(make sure your tablet is stable and you have a good usb cable, the one they supplied with my tablet was junk)
After upgrading your tablet should reboot and begin installing the new firmware

Hi Brodi,

I can see an update for the X700 bluetooth version but not (yet?) for the no bluetooth version. Hope Hyundai updates the no bluetooth as well. If not, I may try to flash the bluetooth version taking into account that mine has no back camera, only 0.3 Mega pixel front camera & of course no bluetooth.

I'd like to give it a try, but there might be problems with the front camera since the bluetooh version have 2 megapixel camera againt .3 megapix of the no bluetooth!

Will probably try one day on my spare time.

I've just tried it with the new January 31st firmware for the Bluetooth hold x on my non Bluetooth hold x and the wifi is unable to function, really limiting the function of the tablet.

Thanks for the info Brodi.

I was about to flash the January BT version to this non-BT version due to minor issues:

• intermittent wake-up when SD card is inserted
  
• resizing of pictures, web pages, docs, etc. is shaky not as smooth as it should be
  
• LCD screen has noticeable flickering when battery charge goes down to 60%. Flicker noticeable on white spaces.
  
• WiFi reception is weak although it seems to be an antenna issue as reported by others

Anyway, thanks again for updating the 1st page with new ROMs. It's unfortunate to us non-Chinese 'reading' people who wants to check Hyundai homepage for updates.

Finally tried to flash the bluetooth version to my non-b. Ha ha confirmed dead WiFi & camera. I guess we have to wait for the non-bluetooth version from Hyundai.

Hi everyone,

I have received my Hold X from Merimobiles.

After I turned it on, I was able to use it for 5 minutes.

I turned it off and then I tried to upgrade to the latest firmware available from Hyundai website.

The screen will not show anything, meaning that its always blank/black, although when I "think" its off its detected by my Win7 and I can flash any firmware with the RKTool.

Unfortunately I don't have the original firmware in order to rollback the firmware update. I tried with a previous version with no luck.

I know that it charges because the battery gets a little hot when charging and I know it "turns on" because I placed it inside the protection plastic bag for 30 minutes and it got a little hot.

If I press power + volume up nothing happens, for 10, 20, 30 seconds... also tried different combinations with the same result.

Like I said before... RKTool detects my Hold X... Upgrade, Clean, I tried everything with no success...

And I can't even find a reset button!

Any ideas...? Do you have an older firmware for Hold X?

in the web say I only see One link to Update the X700 (is not especificate the No bluetoo or with bluetoo).

You will likely run into driver issues with wifi and camera if you use the bluetooth firmware on a non bluetooth device. Also it seems like there is finally a new firmware for non bluetooth released just yesterday, I'll flash it to my device. http://translate.goo...aL1e3D-vC-4xsDw
