Hi Powerbyte,

Where did you find this one? Looks like it is from September. Gemei have done some unofficial beta versions of JB since the summer but all have got bad feedback. Have not seen anything on Gemei's forum about any release. I would love to know this is an official working version, after all they have promised a release in October... it is getting closer ;)
Does it work, work well?

Hello
This version works perfectly.
I've flashed the same day it was published by powerbyte ( Thanks Powerbyte ), and my G9T works much better.

WiFi is more stable, and has improved the fluidity of the system.
I do not know if it is a beta or final version, but I do not care much.

Now I'm looking for ways to rooting my G9T with this version ...

regards

To root tablet, first flash g9t_root.zip (the one used on 4.0.4)

dowload this:
Superuser-3.1.3-arm-signed.zip

and:
su-bin-3.1.1-arm-signed.zip

from http://androidsu.com/superuser/

Extract su binary and SuperUser.apk from downloaded zips.

Connect tablet using USB debug option.

Copy to sdcard using adb push:
adb push su /sdcard/
adb push SuperUser.apk /sdcard/

Execute:

1) adb shell
2) On the shell execute "su" command to get root access
3) cd /system/app
4) rm Superuser.apk (old superuser from root patch)
5) cp /sdcard/SuperUser.apk /system/app
6) chmod 644 SuperUser.app
7) cd /system/xbin
8) cp /sdcard/su /system/xbin
9) chmod 6755 su

Reboot tablet

Maybe there is an easy way to sign the old g9t_root.zip packet with this binary and SuperUser.apk, but I managed this way to root JB on G9T and worked...

Youtube version working: 4.1.47

Debugging I finally found the problem with Google Now.

For install google Now:
1) Remove QuickSearchBox.apk on /system/app
2) GooglePartnerSetup.apk IS CAUSING THE CRASH PROBLEM, I used one included on other JB ROM and is working!!!!

You can delete GooglePartnerSetup.apk to test that this apk is causing the problem, later download new GooglePartnerSetup.apk and copy it to /system/app
3) Download google search and install it!!!

Wifi issues: Same as on 4.04 and earlier, wifi sleep policy not working at all. When screen off, wifi disconnects.

Tried to use regpon wifi keepalive , but no success, and when screen gets off after a few hours tablet is blocked and you need to reboot it... I am trying to debug if it is a regpon wifi problem or not...

Someone has a good solution for wifi disconnecting issue?

ROM is more stable than 4.0.4, but after correcting the issues described in this post, I can't get a reliable wifi connection when screen is off.

It is a tablet issue probably due to wifi driver and sleep policy.

Looking around I found exactly this issue that I noticed using wifi on gemei G9T , they call it sleep of death:
http://code.google.c.../detail?id=4005

Any idea how to minimize it?

I downloaded from market an app to try to mantain wifi always alive when screen is off. Let s see if this can solve the issue...
If someone has a working solution it will be great...

PD: The sleep problem is the same as the one explained here : http://liliputing.co...th-problem.html

Does flash player work fine after that?
And when I installed a build.prop from another devices I had problem with a game. It was crashing and stuttering. Is everything ok with this solution?

Flash player is not supported on jelly bean, but you can install it, the only browsers that support flash player on jelly bean decently are the stock browser and UC Broser. Opera or Chrome doesn't support flash player on jelly bean. The goal is to use HTML5 not flash player.

You can't intall build.prop FROM ANOTHER DEVICE, you need to MODIFY YOUR BUILD.PROP , using a build.prop from another device can cause issues.

I modified default build.prop from Gemei G9T but I maintained fingerprint and device name, if you want full compatibility with some games you need to change this on the build.prop from my resurces pack, do it at your own risk:

1) Open your build.prop editor and change the following:
ro.product.model=sgh-t989
ro.product.brand=samsung
ro.product.name=sgh-t989
ro.product.device=sgh-t989
2) Save the new build.prop and reboot your tablet. Play Store should now list gameloft games and you will be able to play them.

If your tablet is still not giving you this games Play access:

1) Go to settings->Apps->All and select “Google Play Store”.
2) Clear Cache if it lets you then ‘Force Stop’ — DO NOT Clear data
3) Back to the list and go to “Google Services Framework”
4) Clear data then Force Stop
5) Reboot tablet

Since this model is close to the Gadmei E8HD I have, is it possible to port the JB to it?
Specs: 8" IPS Display, 1280x800 Resolution, 1GB RAM, 8GB Flash.
