Hi folks my nexus 7 charger works well at charging the table and it is quite quick, also do we have any list of what apps will work on the tab as I tried loading Modern combat 4 zero hour last night will down load but not install, crackle movies is not compatible, chrome is not compatible, itv player not compatible, dead space not compatible, just a few that I have found,

hey have you tried using the xml files.

I just copied them and was able to install crackle, chrome, itv player. you must be rooted and use root browser lite or root explorer.

1. backup you system/etc/permissions to a safe place
2. copy the xml files to system/etc/permissions,replace the old files (you will have to change to r/w in order to wite to system folders)
3. make sure the permissions on the files you copied are the same as all the other files in that folder. check permissions on one you did not overwrite to see what check boxes to check, do this by long pressing the file and selecting permissions
4.In settings- all apps, stop Google service framework, clear data, in Google play store, clear cache, clear data.
Start play store again, you get 'error', shut down tablet, reboot

Hey, I have been looking at the Onda V971 at http://nomadtablets....-V971-Dual-Core as an upgrade on my old Zenithink tablet. Will the v972 firmware work with the v971? And also I cant see any differences between the v971 and v972 apart from the cameras so for the price is the extra camera worth it?

Cheers harty

Well, would have bought the 971, but the 972 was in Stock. The camera is supposedly good, but I never use it.

OK so I decided to give 1.3.2 a try. Followed the instruction using Phoenix Suite and finished without problems saying firmware upgrade succeeded.

Now to the problem. Even though Phoenix Suite said the upgrade succeeded, the device is completely bricked. Useless. Won't turn on. Nothing. I can't even start it in upgrade mode to redo the install. I am able to sort of turn it on though, because long-pressing the power button gives off a vague discharge sound, but other than that, there is no sign of life. The screen is completely black, always.

Anyone got any ideas? And yeah, I made sure to have 100% battery before the upgrade. This is bothering the hell out of me, as it seems I will likely have to ship it back now...

Edit: Still completely bricked. Tried turning it on with headphones plugged in. I hear a slight pop sound when I try to turn it on. But still, nothing whatsoever happens. I tried googling for a while and someone wrote that it should be pretty brick proof. Are there any options left for me if I can't get it connected to the computer? I tried rebooting the computer and plugging in while holding the home button and then simultaneously pressing the power button many times. Many, many times. No result.

Did you happen to use a crappy USB connector or front panel port?

you must use root explorer or root browser lite or a browser that will let you change permissions on the folder. In root explorer if you look up at the top of the list it will say r/o if you touch change to r/w it will change the write permissions and you will be able to move the files there.

I would try and reflash it with 1.02 and see if it comes back to life. I had a similar issue with one of mine. I unbricked one of mine doing this. I then proceeded to upgrade to 1.2

I love my V972 it has exceeded my admittedly modest expectations.

Some small problems.

Sound is a little quiet.
Cursor sometimes lags.

Positives

Screen is beautiful
Has ran all apps that I have needed.

However alround it has been great. Currently playing football manager and temple run 2 with no problems.

Not able to install 1.32 whenever I go to the update app and select online update it does not find anything.

Read My Post, may help you update to the latest firmware 1.32(OFW or CFW)

If I connect My tablet to my TV using hdmi cable the sound is still playing from tablet speaker. Does any one of you have the same issue? I just wonder if its the tablet issue or just the cable one.

I used the right side USB port on an Asus EEE 1008HA running Windows 7. I used the included cable. I didn't expect you to use some kind of über usb port or golden usb cable.

Well, I can keep trying till I die of fatigue, but the thing is when you start it by holding the home button, plugging in usb, and then pressing the power button about 10 times, nothing happens. It does not appear to connect to my PC. But I'll try it a few times more. Maybe having the 1.0.2 firmware on the PC will magically make it able to connect... Ugh, I'm just fed up with this ****. Of course, when you get a tablet that doesn't seem to have any real flaws, a simple firmware update with the manufacturer's official tool and firmware will brick the **** out of it...

Another problem. I cant open the settings in the gallery, and the gallery does not sync with picasa, nor is there any account optoins for picasa in the system setting. Anybody else experiencing this?

Hi
I had to give up the Arctablet Kasty Onda, it never gave me write permission to system.
So am am back on Ondas orginal 1,32 with root and writeable system.

Had a lot of problem with Phoenix Suite like others, but a change of usb cable made the differense for me.

Using HDMI on tv works good also sound on tv set.

Thanks

Hi

All this is very confusing for a novice like myself...

Firstly where do I get an English installable version of Phoenix 1.6??
along with easy guide to update.

What further confuses me is the fact That ONDA designed a product which
could be updated OTA so I update from 1.02 to 1.2 loose root but thats
not a big issue for me and now I hear I cannot use OTA to go from 1.2 to 1.32
all very confusing...

Maybe I am missing something but could someone please explain /provide answers
to help be upgrade to 1.32?

This tablet works fine otherwise if someone can help here it would be appreciated.

Thanks

I will explain the main reason why you cant upgrade farther from 1.2 from phoenix.
Onda has block 1.21 and 1.32 ota update for user who was 1.02 and update from ota to 1.2 ( just to be sure no one will keep root from old firmware). if you want to upgrade to 1.32 you must
1) downgrade to 1.02
2) update to 1.21 using phoenix
3) update to 1.32 using phoenix (yes now will be ok)
if someone has any problem I 'm willing to help.

It is a manufactirer`s update tool. It goes with firmware .img files in zip.
It is installing on Chinese, but when you launch it, it`s on English.
The last version is 1.0.5 and it`s update to version 1.0.6 in application.
