Other than that it is relative painless using the accompanied PhonexSuit.

theres no official jelly bean 4.2.2 so its not really "upgrading" as per say, more like flashing some random persons cooked rom

Anyone?
I returned my F9X twice for dead pixels, and now I changed it to an Onda V972 for $50 more.
I didn't notice the dead pixels on my first F9X for the first week so I'm guessing it really IS that hard to see for almost everyone. But really? Zero reports of dead pixels all over the net except from me and Creationsh with the F9X? The real problem with dead pixels is that once you see one you can't unsee it.

Between my friends we have 3 of them. Not one dead pixel. I have actually been really lucky. out of all of my lcd's tvs, gps, monitors, tablets, ect Never had a dead pixel on any of them. I figured that it was rare to get a bad pixel. Perhaps Manufacturer of the F9X are buying low cost grade B lcd screens to put in there tablets.

Hi.
Short version : The battery is to small. Last 2 hours on full brightness , 3+ on low. And it struggles with the high resolution.
Software has got better last months. But only from terrible to usable.
Go for rk3188 with lower resolution as Pipo M9. Smooth!
Thanks

The fact that it struggles with the retina makes me lean towards the Pipo m8pro though i wanted a retina tablet for reading. But short battery and laggy performance can be easily a dealbreaker...

It works well for me (movies and some Photoshop Touch). The real advantage of the retina resolution is to be able to read documents in full screen mode. It's pretty amazing and useful and can save a lot of trees if you're the type of person that prints a lot of pdfs. I notice some lag when web browsing. If you do that a lot, maybe you should stay away from this, at least till the software gets better. Also, in general, the battery is on the smaller side. On the other hand, that's true for most Chinese tablets.

Thank you so much! I was waiting for more replies, but it seems noone has seen dead pixels in their Onda V972 around here.
Also, has anyone noticed how bad the sound is coming from the headphone jack? I used a headphone with a mic so that may have caused the mono-sound problem as I read (I forgot if I tested with a no-mic headphone). I'm still waiting for my Onda V972 and I really wish I have zero problems this time.

Help
