An interesting result. I now have a N70 and a N70S, so I thought I would test them both. But, they are not the same rom builds. The N70 has CM10, CWM, and is rooted. It scored about 9800 total. Now, my newly acquired, bricked, unbricked, and restored with newest rom, no root, no CWM, scored over 13,000! This is not apples to apples, but it is surprising.
BTW the screen on the N70S is NOT bad at all. Yes the view angle is shorter, but it looks pretty nice for the price. This tablet does not look like any of the ads I've seen, it does not have the same back case as the N70. The power and volume buttons are reversed, and the left end has all the ports exposed (not under a cap). Any ideas what that's all about?

they should both score above 13 000 with the new Antutu (scores are modified from version 3.0 and above)
i wouldn't use CM10 becouse it may have some bugs and it is not updated (use Project Margarine instead)

btw fast96 how do you mean it doesnt look like in the picture
on the N70 should say N70 on the back and on the N70s should say N70 S

as long as you are compatible with the firmwares dont worry

edit: yes i have read about it that this is a newer revision
it may have bigger battery 4000mah(you need to open it to check but i do not recommend) and some heating problems solved

I am getting really interested in the N70S. I would like to know if I should buy the N70 or N70S. Is the N70S just an N70 without the IPS screen? (Or did they also cut costs on the battery, build quality etc.?)
I already have the Onda VI40 and ICOO D90W, but the Allwinner A10 is killing me with it's slow single core SOC. Browsing and gaming isn't so much fun anymore...

Yes, that makes me wonder too.

Checking N70S page at Yuandao site shows different pictures of the tablet. Go to bottom of the page to see them:

I can only assume either a] Yuandao changed the design but never updated their website about it or b] you ended up buying a clone. It is next to impossible to know which of these happened. Maybe Yuandao has a way to verify that tablet is made by them. Or e-mail them the pics and see if they tell you they made that one or not?

I don't know if the N70 is a glass digitizer, but it is very flat. The N70S is not as flat and is for sure plastic. The battery is fine as far as I can tell. The build quality on the N70S, in my opinion, is 1 step below the N70. But it is still nice. Way better than the $75 WM8850 tablets.

I agree the $25 (about), is well spent. The one I bought is for a 6 year old, so it might be better/more durable.
It works just fine. I also prefer the exposed ports, the cover is a pain. But I like the "flat" finish of the N70 on the back.

OK, thanks for the info.

Chinese companies seem to always be improving their previous models every 3-4 months. I guess they should have called this one the N70S-II because the design changed. That is assuming they even sold any of the N70S with the port covers & reversed buttons.

In any case, updating the info on their website would really help and stop the confusion.

I just ran AnTuTu 3.0.2 on my N70HD and got the following results. The tablet was at 70+% battery so I am not sure if that affects the scores.

Scores: 11,792 / 11,897

run nenamark v2 and post how many frames you got
