Hello Friends,

I received my Ainol Novo 10 yesterday and it is very impressive tablet. The Software version is 20121031.v2 . I saw here in the forum an updated stable firmware is available. My Tablet is just opening so many things without touching the touch panel and also the wifi strength is too low. Please explain me how to update my Hero with the latest firmware.

thanks in advance

Hi SHIJO,

* Bluetooth USB dongle support
* USB GPS support (cp210x and pl2303)

Here you'll find the latest compatibility zip to be able to flash CM10.

You'll need this recovery (that has been packed with hero's kernel). Unzip and put in the root of your SD card.

Download and copy to your SD card

- rom cm-10-20121117-UNOFFICIAL-elf2.zip
- gapps gapps-jb-20121011-signed-ubifs.zip
- comp zip rc0 hero-cm10-compatibility-rc0.zip

do a "wipe data / factory reset", flash them in that order, reboot and enjoy! :)

All thanks to Christian Troy.

I do not know why you update this firmware intead of CWm.
What i paste first is how to update firmware to CWM (latest, more compatible).
Forget Novo1003-Hero-115.zip!!!!
Read CWM topic under Ainol 10 Novo Hero.
Follow intructions i've firstly pasted.

I got my first tablet and i followed intructions and now it's flashed to 4.1.2 and no problem and work very good and smooth.
Watch out for the next possible errors:
- If you got into recovery mode (check NOT android recovery menu, You need CWM recovery menu)
- First format sdcard to Fat32 system NOT NTFS. (It was my fault first and my table go to black dead. I need to push reset in mic hole and alive again.)

If you not able to flash after that and you read all of about it in theese topic, than sell your tablet.
:)

Read the steps in the cm10 post. Why are you bothering people here and on the caveat emptor forums with the same issue if you don't even have the tablet?

Tried to install cm10 but got emmc formatting error. Performed the wipe data etc and used the correct cwm boot loader. The problem is it does not see internal sdcard. Will try again in the future.

Check that you have the SD card formatted in FAT format.

Check that you have the SD card formatted in FAT format.

The internal card is is formatted as FAT32 which I would assume is correct.

Disk /dev/sdd: 14.0 GB, 13979615232 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 1699 cylinders, total 27303936 sectors
Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0xffffffff

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdd1 32130 27294434 13631152+ b W95 FAT32

The external card is formatted as FAT32 as well

Disk /dev/sdc: 7969 MB, 7969177600 bytes
256 heads, 63 sectors/track, 965 cylinders, total 15564800 sectors
Units = sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disk identifier: 0x00000000

Device Boot Start End Blocks Id System
/dev/sdc1 * 2048 15564799 7781376 c W95 FAT32 (LBA)

You dont need to upgrade stock firmware. CM comes rooted already.

All working now performed wipe/reset using stock ROM, then did the same using cwm. Cm10 then installed without errors.
