Which version of ICS is on your tablet?

Does adb work?

Does your tablet have the Superuser app in /system/app or the su binary in /system/bin?

PS - I wouldn't try to root the tablet till you have a ROM that you can flash back onto it, incase something goes wrong....

I will also try to root my slate using Bin4ry's method, if it starts again after firmware upgrade. Will get back with the results.

I have now rooted my device using Bin4ry's method.

My comments:

I'm using Mac OS and had to replace the supplied adb with one built for my platform.

After the text

Successful, going to reboot your device in 10 seconds!
Waiting for device to show up again ...

the tablet locked up with a black screen. I had to pull the USB-cable, hold the power button and then attach the USB-cable again while it started. Then everything went on fine.

I verified that I have root using Root Checker.
