N70 & N70HD both lack internal Bluetooth. Has anyone tried external (USB) Bluetooth on either one?

I would like to know if Yuandao includes Bluetooth drivers with their N70/N70HD firmware to use a Bluetooth adapter with the tablet.

Thanks. Later,

PS, I know there is CM10 out for N70 but I would like to know about Yuandao's firmware instead. =)

*MINIX NEO X5 (RK3066) - OK. Not fun because uses mouse cursor.
*YUANDAO N80 DUAL (RK3066) - Very good
*CUBE U30GT (RK3066)- Defective; buttons broke in 2-3 weeks; Bad quality control!!! I will never buy a Cube again!!! - Very good while working
*WOPAD I7 (RK2918)- About OK. Sluggish because has weaker ARM chip (RK2918) & less RAM (512 MB).

Yes, probably lack of Bluetooth drivers.

Sucks because many Chinese tablets come with no built in Bluetooth and then they do not make firmware to work with external Bluetooth adapters. So getting external Bluetooth working is almost impossible on most Chinese tablets with tablet maker firmware. CM9 or CM10 would work though.

Thanks for the info. Later,

PS, I bought N90 dual S for great price and I will try external Bluetooth adapter on it. If it does not work, I will try flashing it with N90 dual IPS firmware and see what happens.

Hi to everybody
I join this post because I want to try to enable external bluetooth dongle support for my yuandao n70s "ZZ" 4.1 JB.

I've seen around that bluetooth.ko, btusb.ko and other files are needed. Now i'd like to ask to the specialists :good: :
If i found this file can i add the module to my original stock rom?
I saw the "insmod" command via virtual terminal but i think that this can be done only with custom rom and not with original stock, or i can add module (driver) to my stock rom too?
I have just found an app that can replace the "standard" setting to pair, scan, etc. but obviously when the system asks me to confirm turning on bluetooth the "waiting" never stops because, i guess, it cant'recognize the dongle.
I also saw that the great Christian has made a cm10 custom for only n70 and, if I'm not mistaken, the cm10 has Bluetooth generic driver inside.

Can I start this battle or is a lost war? What do you think about? :drinks:
bye to everybody and thank for your advice.

You should use modules that are compiled against RK3066 kernel source.

Best way is to get BT modules from N90 Dual firmware because that has internal Bluetooth and should have them. Or maybe built into the kernel instead? Or take them from Christian's CM10 firmware.

No idea what files you need or what changes you have to make. That is something you will have to figure out. You can add insmod into the start up file once you get it working.

The easy way out is to flash Christian's CM10 firmware for N70.

Christian told me that CM10 for RK3066 is missing HW composer so the UI will not be very smooth.
http://developer.mip...hics-subsystem/
http://android.stack...r-in-jelly-bean

HW composer seems to take the load off the CPU and put it on the GPU for the UI.

Hi, thanks for your answer :drinks: slowly slowly I started my battle.

I thought that first of all I need to know my enemy so i found the "adb shell dmesg" so I can monitor how the device responds to new modules. The problem now is that the tablet has only one usb port, so my question is now: can i have a sort of "adb shell dmesg" directly on the device so i can understand what happens in real time when i insert my usb dondle?

I found this too:
http://www.slatedroi...on/page__st__40

and it seems a good detailed guide on how to esperiment this, even if it depends on a particular rocket chip.

Thanks again
