thank you very much for that website its great! what would you recommend the window or the ainol ?
-uses RK3066 which is "somewhat" better ARM chip than 8726-MX. Gives great performance in 3D and only gets warm when 3D gaming.
-built good but not great
-firmware good but not great. No good 3rd party firmware because of some closed off source files according to Christian (firmware developer).
-uses 8726-MX (AKA 8726-M6). It gives very good performance in 3D but can get kinda hot gaming.
-Bigger community. Lots of people like Ainol brand.
-firmware good but not great
-Some 3rd party firmware based off CM (Cyanogenmod). CM10 available. For anyone that prefers 3rd party firmware instead.
-built good (or very good)? Hard to really say build without owning Crystal or N70S.
Both tablets do not use IPS displays so equal in that sense. Both are big and well known brands and should be reliable.
Many are buying the N70 (IPS version) & Ainol Crystal. ie. bigger communities with those. N70S is fairly new (1 month?), without IPS and very likely will sell well too over time because of price point & specs.
N70 (IPS version of N70S)
For performance choose N70S. For big community support & 3rd party firmware (CM10) choose Crystal. I would go with N70S because of better performance & chip only gets warm while gaming. But it really depends what is more important to you.
Note: I have never used any but 3rd party firmware can be good to fix certain things, like getting "external" (USB adapters working for) GPS, Bluetooth & 3G working. Lots of tablet makers seem to leave these drivers out of their firmwares. Also, more options and control over Android.
PandaWill is *usually* good for pricing but small # of things can cost more than other sellers. It is a very good site and way to get started on buying direct from China.
I ordered N90 dual S (9.7", non-IPS) from PandaWill because the price was too good to pass up on. I chose Singapore Post (I will get tablet in 12-15 days in Canada). China & Hong Kong Post get really busy this time of year and should not be used. China Post is the default, free shipping method.
