Firmware from Oct. 19th seems the best for the play store compatibility.
After flashing firmware from Nov. 8th it can't be downgraded back to firmware from Oct. 19th. And I tried in all manners of ways, with upgrade, with restore, with resetting IDB, without resetting the IDB.
Good thing the final owner, my father, cares next to nothing about games and firmware upgrades for the tablet.

Here's what I tried, Market Enabler set to T-Mobile USA, changing build prop to t-mobile GS3. I also use the JB script and select the enable market access function.
Have you guys try the JB script and clicking on the option to enable market access?

1007, 1019 - most if not all apps, games show up like what i expect. but strangely enough, the whole thing (launcher, apps) make full use of the screen, so i discarded using these firmwares.
1026, 1108 - very little apps/games show up, but other than that, the tablet works just as it should be.
same situation with gaelex.

i tried all the build prop values posted before and the one posted by max1001 a couple of posts up this page, still doesn't work.
there must be something sinister blocking it.

I can wait, it's only an annoying issue for me, as I am not the final user. My father will care little about firmware and games and apps updating from the market.
For now I am leaving the N70HD with the Oct. 19th firmware.
For the guys saying it's working with build.prop edits, I think you may have the N70 version, we are talking here about the N70HD model. No matter what firmware I put after the Oct. 19th one, the GPS icon disappears in the power widget and so does the compatibility in play store.

I have N70HD and I am still trying to figure out why I am the only one with working play store. It's very strange indeed. I did do a factory reset at one point but I don't see how that help.

Really there must be something that got screwed when they made the new firmwares and the location reporting. Here is another VERY strange issue:
Oct. 19th firmware, Beautiful Widgets has no idea where I am, I have to tell it which city manually. Newer firmware Oct. 26th, Nov. 8th etc., Beautiful Widgets finds out automatically where I am and updates weather and everything by itself.

Because Nexus 7 uses Tegra 3 and galax s3 uses mali 400. It's way better to fake S3 than N7 if you want the game to actually work.

Use jb script option to enable full market and it works. But the screen is wrongly rotated.
I have changed the rotation profile in the buildprop of the JB script and now, all is running fine.
N70HD Jb script
** Pls take note that the dpi will be changed to 160 instead of the default 200. I actually love this dpi more..a more truly tablet layout.
Run JB script Bat >> Select enable full market >> select AZ mode >> Reboot device after it successfully applied.
After reboot, go to Settings >> App >> Google play store...clear cache/data.
Settings >> Accounts >> select google & yr account >> click on top right to remove account
Relaunch play store and login.
