Any idea how do I flash the recovery using rk android tool? The instructions on that W.I.R. firmware page is not very clear.

The recovery works fine for my RK3066 P88. I hope to remember correct that it is a touch recovery. You should have another try wiping up and down. Report if it fails - then I will take a deeper look into it. Or I can give you my ROM with recovery included.

It's normal that charging while the tablet is on takes a longer time. I cannot tell you now how much longer. I usually charge my devices when they are shut down.

Another thing I notice about my tablet recently is that the screen seems to be flickering and it is somewhat noticable at low brightness. Is this normal?

Sorry but I never saw a flickering.

You could wipe cache + dalvik in clockwork recovery or a complete wipe (data / factory reset) or you could try another firmware.

after a long time of abstinence I played around a bit with my P88 (RK3066). And I still like it because it is a nice toy with a good performance. I rooted the last firmware (2013-05-14) a bit to make it more comfortable after flashing. If you like you can try it:

My Teclast p88 Quad-Core (A31) wiped 2 days ago and I can't switch it on. I tryed it by charging and I tried it by connecting to my computer. Nothing worked. I also tried to press the reset button on the backside but the tablet doesn't make anything.
