Follow the path : USB-Burning-tool-SPI\_DRIVER_win7\ - it's enough for the AML Flash Tool

There are two drivers - 7 x 32 and 7 x 64 bit in the folders
/amd64 - 64 bit
/x86 - 32 bit

Hello Conner,

which modifications are need to avoid the installation via AML flash tool?

I know some guys, they install the org. V1.5.5 and the V2.0 for the Onda V711 with a european windows.
Causes many troubles...

In the future your jellybean custom roms will be available also with SD-card flash?

Thanks ,

melbar

Any of these custom roms http://www.slatedroi...ustom-firmware/ shall be flashed via SD-card (not PC, not AML flash tool)

Recommend v.1.4 or Hybrid firmware v.1.5-1.5.5

JB custom rom will be available also with SD-card flash

I think you didn't understand me

If i download the original ROM (the V1.5.5 or the V2.0 when available) from Onda's website, then i'm forced to use the AML FLASH TOOL?!

And what do you do during the process 'org. ROM' --> 'custom ROM (in your words modded ROM ;) )' to change from PC flash to SD flash?

Yes, stock v.1.5.5 can be flashed from PC only

How to make rom to flash from SD - see attachment:

Hey everybody, i need help?!
I flash my Onda VI40 DC with CM9 and the teach screen wouldn't :o work, so i tried to flash it back with the stock flash but neither the SD Flash or USB Burning Tool method seem to work.
I'm asking if there is any other flashing program "with a working USB Driver" that i can use?
I did use "Livesuit" but I couldn't find any IMG Firmware for my device, so if there's a way to convert ZIP to IMG files, please let me know?
Thanx in advance.... :D

Hi, melbar!

If you mean custom firmware - better to use ICS FINAL rom or v.1.5 hybrid or JELLY BEAN rom ('ll upload today) - all shall be flashed from SD card, not PC

For official firmware - any except v.1.5.5

CM9 bootloader changed stock ONDA bootloader (recovery)

Better do the next:

1. use USB Burning Tool to erase nand - it works perennially

or skip 1. and

2. Flash from SD ICS FINAL rom or Jelly Bean custom

Livesuit doesn't works with Amlogic tablets (for A10 only)

It takes less 3 sec. to erase nand usually.

To flash official firmware - about 2 min - but depend on how powerfull your pc is.

Thank you for answering. I wasn't sure if erase was finish and didn't want to interrupt.
Now I think was silly question :)
Thank you again for your time, appreciated.

Hi, i am new to this. I Have an Onda VI40 Dual - with original 4.03 firmware

I have flashed the new VI40D_v2.0-1129SD from a formatted SD card. All proceeded well until i read there were some errors. Now the Onda is sort of dead (the PC recognizes it as M3-CHIP). I can't start it or do anything else.

I have tried with the IMAGE BURN TOOL. All OK with the drivers etc (now the Onda is seen as worldcup device), but when i try to load the update.zip file (from the 1129SD), the tools says 'find no upgrade config please upload it manually' which stops me.

Any help. I have no clues anymore.

Thanks

You need:
- unzip VI40D_v2.0-1129SD firmware to SD card and flash from SD card only! See: VI40D_v2.0-1129SD - means what firmware must be flashed from SD-card

Hi all, I think I've bricked my Onda
I tried to load the bootloader for upgrading to JB. I think I must have done something wrong as my tab now doesn't even boot to the white robot. The screen lights up as though it's booting but does nothing.

I'm trying to re-flash using AML Flash Tool but I get 'find no upgrade config please upload it manually' and can't get any further. I've tried flashing all the ROM's I can get my hands on but get the same result every time.

Can anyone help please? Thanks.

Guys, DO NOT TRY TO USE AML FLASH TOOL to flash JB firmwares!

JB firmware for SD flash only!

It's impossible to kill tablet by stock firmware.

In your case may help http://www.slatedroi.../41380-jb-roms/ - How to flash ROM Step 1. Preparing new bootloader for JB

or

simply flash that http://www.slatedroi...-ics-rom-final/

Thanks Connor, I dont think I was clear. I tried to flash the bootloader using SD card method. It didn't seem to work...doesn't even boot to white robot. When I turn the tab on the screen brightens but stays black.....no further response at all. Is there anyway to recover tablet? I've tried rescue disk but as tab doesnt boot to white robot I don't know what to do. Thanks for your help.

It's ok.

If white robot doesn't appears, but display is dim when power on - try next:

- power off tablet

- flash ICS FINAL rom (today evening I'll upload v. EN03)

It must work - I make so very often.

(when use rescue disk or try to flash JB first time, white robot doesn't appears after second power on. Rollback to ICS shall help always)

PS. Time period between dim display and Green robot is about 15-20 sec., hold HOME button on.

Hi Connor,

Thank you...but I still can't get the tablet to boot.

You say to turn off tablet and flash ICS FINAL rom. How do I do this if the tablet won't even boot to white robot?

I've tried holding home and then powering on but this doesn't go to Green robot, even after 15-20 secs.

All that happens when I press the on button is the screen brightens slightly and stays bright for 5 seconds and then goes off again.

If there's anymore help you can offer that would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hi,

I had the same situation like you after I tried to load the bootloader (JB ROM, Step1). Only way I could go back is to load the ICS Final rom, strange thing was that when I holding home and then powering...There was no white robot, after waiting sometimes it went straight to green robot! And then eventually it loaded ICS Final as usual.
