Hi,

I had the same situation like you after I tried to load the bootloader (JB ROM, Step1). Only way I could go back is to load the ICS Final rom, strange thing was that when I holding home and then powering...There was no white robot, after waiting sometimes it went straight to green robot! And then eventually it loaded ICS Final as usual.

Thanks for your response, can you provide steps I need to follow to get to Green Robot, as much as I've tried I just can't get it to work.

Thanks again.

Hi,

Here is what I did:

Formatted (FAT32) my ext.SD card
Unzipped ICS Final (EN02) to ext.SD card
Safely Removed from Computer
Put on charger (do u remember how much charge u had before ur tablet went to dark?), may be it's better to wait for some hours after putting it to charger!
Press & Hold HOME & sametime press & hold POWER (pls note here: not short press on POWER, but press & hold POWER)
it did somekind of blinking, waiting may be 20 sec. & went to GREEN ROBOT
Release the power button, release the home button
It did the job!

Only thing I'm afraid in ur case if it has any charge left as there's no way to say it. I'm quite sure u still didn't brick it.

I hope you'll get ur tablet working!

Thank you, thank you, thank you......with me being rather stupid and your's and Connor's help I've got the tab to boot and successfully installed custom ICS v3.

The only difference between what I did and your instructions was that I didn't need to press home to get green robot, just pressed power on and that booted to green robot.

Do you think I should try the bootloader again and upgrade to JB? I'm reluctant to do this considering the issues I've already had.

Thanks again, really appreciate your help!

I flashed ROMs with battery charged to 0, but plugged into outlet - it doesn't matter what charge is.

It's dangerous, if you try to flash with low battery without tablet plugged into outlet, because:

- some ROMs can show battery charge = 0 when flashing, and flashing process interrupts
- you battery can fully discharge before flashing process ended

But and it is not dangerous - just to flash again

Hi, Kind of new at this. I have a Onda V711 that I am trying to get working correctly. I could not mount an external 32gig SD card, tried several, all formatted with FAT 32, but none would mount. I tried a factory reset, now the tablet works, but everything seems to be installed in internal memory, I cannot write to internal SD, and still cannot mount external SD. The internal SD card does has 6 directories on it. I can see them with a file browser, but cannot delete them. Have tried to format the internal SD card via the computer. It says it is formatting, but when it is finished, the same six directories are still there.

I am trying to use the USB burning tool to reinstall the v1.5.5 firmware using a 32bit XP machine, got the drivers installed, but when I connect the tablet to the usb port, I get a message on the screen saying "looping before Zumo is running". "Drive not mounted". After about 30 times, the program stops. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi, Wayne!

All problems with flashing because:

- you must use only ENGLISH version of Windows
- you must to disable on all you USB hubs in the device manager "Allow to power off.." - see manual in the header

All other factors (antiviruses, user programs, etc.) do not affect the flashing

Hi;

I've some problem with AML FLASH. When i run it on Windows 7 x64 then:

aml_open_logfile:open log\usb_2013-01-05-16-16-57.log
PortCofigXml
"config_progress.xml"
--readConfig--- "config_progress.xml"
getResourcePath ""
QFileSystemWatcher::addPath: path is empty

Any ideas?

Thanks.

"config_progress.xml" - is the scenario how to flash (you can edit it with text editor, better Notepad++)

QFileSystemWatcher - provides an interface for monitoring files and directories for modifications

You message means what inside folder USB-Burning-Tool:

- or your folder "resources" is empty
- or in your folder "tmp" some unpacked files are absent

Follow the manual:

- place zipped firmware into "resources" folder
- in the menu choose "Import upgrade file" and indicate path/file with zipped firmware
Attached File  156.jpg   32.23KB   55 downloads Attached File  157.jpg   13.65KB   51 downloads

Firmware will be unzipped to the "tmp" folder; you can edit "config_progress.xml" if you want

New version of Amlogic Image Burning Tool v.1.4.6.1109 (2013-01-20) released (download links in the header)

Operating system: ENGLISH VERSION ONLY Windows XP/XP 64-bit/Vista/Vista 64-bit/7/7 64-bit (see folder "_DRIVER", 32/64 bit drivers included)

Changes: not visible to the end-users :(

I am trying to flash my onda v971t with a custom JB rom (from valkoz) but I only got the white android.
My onda has already JB original rom.

I understand that the custom rom can not be used with ImageBurnTool but are there other custom roms which can be used with ImageBurnTool?
Can you make/rebuild the custom rom to be used with ImageBurnTool
Is it possible to use the tool to flash Clockworkmod on the Onda?

Thanks, Mike

Hi,

I have downloaded This tool but not sure how to use it.

I have an ONDA V701 stuck at the "White Robot". It just freezes on the white robot while booting.
After reading all the posts in this forum gave me an impression that I needed to flash the frimware using ImageBurnTool (as suggested by many of you).

  • I have the stock JB firmware from the ONDA Support.
  • I have extracted the firmware to required folder structure too.
  • I have win7 (64bit) english version installed (so language shouldn't be a problem as I have seen for many in the posts)

But what I am failing to understand is how to use the tool.

How to load the firmware in the tool for flashing.
And How to make windows recognize the tablet.

I have tried Power On+Home Button combo but it doesn't go into any recovery screen.

And After I have placed the firmware into the "Resource" folder and imported it I am shown an error "find no upgrade config. please load it manually"

What should be done after that?

And this is what I am getting while trying to get the tablet connected to the laptop

Released version of Amlogic Image Burning Tool v.1.6.2.0128 (2013-02-10)
Changes: allow to use non-English Windows

Link: in the topic header

I made little changes to work with non-English Windows.

Successfully checked on Windows with Hungarian, Polish, Russian, Arabic languages.

Recommend to use this version.

Use flash from PC. Start Device manager, connect tablet. Device manager must detect M3/M6/or linusb device (to do that, push Home+Power buttons). After that flash by AML Flash Tool (link in the topic header).

For 971T you need to use it's own firmware (971D incompatible).

I'll upload for 971T JB en05 firmware little later.

Don't know about Clockworkmod.

Use it.

You need to install driver for tablet first, before use AML Flash Tool. Tool, Manual and How To in the topic header.

Also, such error may cause by unproper uImage_recovery, with different mtd.

Is it somehow possible to repair it WITHOUT FACTORY RESET (DATA LOST)?
Is there any solution?

Thank you in advance :)

"cannot find disk! 30times" means what your new uImage recovery can't be load by old u-boot.bin

Decision:
1. press Stop
2. check point "erase nand"
3. press Start, wait until finished to erase
4. uncheck point "erase nand"
5. press Start to flash again

Hi, kalcjusz

1/

Actually, it's impossible to kill tablets or your gaming handset by AML Tool in case you use stock firmware which corresponds to your device .

Stock firmware compares old/new firmwares and forbids to flash wrong firmware (from different models of tablets).

You can't use from different devices or different versions of firmware

u-boot-aml-ucl.bin
u-boot-orig.bin
uImage_recovery
uImage_usb_burning
usb_spl.bin

In case you used these files from your gaming handset firmware:

config_progress.xml
usb_spl.bin
uImage_usb_burning

- all is OK

But if you used uImage_usb_burning from different tablets/handsets, it could damage, because of different frequences/voltages for cpu/gpu/battery.

To check is your handset alive use http://www.slatedroi...to-onda-tablet/

2/ Your config file without errors, is OK

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

3/ From your log:

mThreadOrder: 0 load spl ...
mThreadOrder 0 write data to ram failed!
WM_DEVICECHANGE
"failed because no connected device ,current step is 1 "

1/ mThreadOrder: 0 load spl ...
mThreadOrder 0 write data to ram failed!

Can be wrong version of u-boot or uImage

Try to make "nand erase" before flashing (see below)

2/ Error "failed because no connected device ,current step is ... " means one of uImages can't be loaded by old u-boot.bin
Try to make "nand erase" before flashing
1. press Stop
2. check point "erase nand"
3. press Start, wait until finished to erase
4. uncheck point "erase nand"
5. press Start to flash again

AND THE MAIN:

Are the files:

u-boot-aml-ucl.bin
u-boot-orig.bin
uImage_recovery
uImage_usb_burning
usb_spl.bin

FROM THE SAME FIRMWARE VERSION?

TO HELP YOU I NEED TO KNOW:

- are all these files from the same version of firmware?

u-boot-orig.bin
uImage_recovery
uImage_usb_burning
usb_spl.bin

- did you modified uImage_recovery or uImage_usb_burning ?

Hi Connor,

v972 my wife stopped working only ONDA logo displayed.

Is it somehow possible to repair it WITHOUT FACTORY RESET (DATA LOST)?
Is there any solution?

Thank you in advance :)

Frantisek

If you have v972 Quad Cores, I think - not possible, because

- you need to flash your tablet again and in the stock v.1.32 flash image are commands:
format userdata - cash, accounts, etc.
format data (media) - music, movies, etc.

But try:

- use hardware reset and the same time long press Power button to turn off tablet before bootlogo appears.
- turn on tablet, maybe it will boot ( sometime v972QC lost partitions, which will restore with all user's data after hard reset)

Sorry, did you mean then I have to do with the Android system recovery --> wipe data/factory reset and after confirming the choice hold power button to turn off tablet?
Thanks
