Hi folks,

After some hard work I finally have a Jelly Bean ROM for the Ainol Novo7 Advanced II.

This project is based on the Cristian Troy work over A10 core. His project is Here

First, some screenshots (from the first version):
Attached File  device-2012-11-02-101501.png (114.31K)
Number of downloads: 253
Attached File  device-2012-11-02-101333.png (59.28K)
Number of downloads: 222

Second, please remember this is is a work-in-progress project and may have bugs and strange behaviours.

I'm not responsible of any damage this ROM or the install process can make on your device. ALWAYS make a backup

You need to install 4.0.4 official before this in order to have touchscreen working

4.0.4 can be downloaded from Here. Flash it using Live Suite.

Working
As far as I tested, everything else.

Current work
Solving camera
Configure UpdateMe.apk to enable notifications that way.

Current version: 10-Nov-2012

What's New:

- Better performance
- Fixed Netflix, now last versión works fine
- Now is android 4.1.2
- Updated to last CM source
- Gapps updated to 4.1.2
- Buttons mapped, now menu and home are vol- and vol+

Required Files
MD5 (advanced2_modules.zip) = 12418f999b9e0cf8e6c90794dd08f7bc
MD5 (cm_907-ota-eng.Starcarr.zip) = 45f14fe88768272608f9f3917a1094ba
MD5 (gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip) = 4e9e7ec3c22b0b3471bd05d62b8a659d

Is important to download exactly these files.

Links
advanced2_modules.zip
cm_907-ota-eng.Starcarr.zip
gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip

If you are using my previous 4.1.1, don't need to do a wipe, just be sure of installing the three packages since old gapps will not work in 4.1.2.

Install Steps
1. Install CWM following this instructions: Here
2. Make a backup
3. Full wipe the device (wipe data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache).
4. Install zip cm_907-ota-eng.Starcarr.zip.
5. Install zip gapps-jb-20121011-signed.zip
6. Install zip advanced2_modules.zip
7. Reboot
8. Enjoy

Tips
1. The performance is nice, buuuut... I highly recommend to disable google search, because Google Now consumes a lot of memory and slows the system.
Go to Settings -> Apps -> ALL -> Google Search -> Disable

2. If you think the ROM is slow, yo can try enabling PERFORMANCE for clock speed.
Go to Settings -> Performance

If you like my work and wanna support bugfixes, future development (like future 4.2) or just invite me a coffe, please donate HERE .

Cheers,
Starcarr

I recommend downloading this cm10_a10_20120913.zip and not the one of Cristian Troy, the file has te same name and both will work but this one has a few tweaks like lcd density.

I've just tried to install this rom on my tablet, but after the boot, I couldn't even to use it, because the touch screen isn't responding to my touches.
It stays waiting on the welcome screen for me to select my country, but nothing happens here.

Can you help me?

I've installed evething, just in the order you wrote on your post.

Thanks in advance.

Off course.

Please connect to the device using adb (you need to connect a USB mouse in order to enable developer options) and give me the result of the following commands:

ls /system/vendor/firmware/
ls /system/vendor/modules/
ls /system/usr/idc/

Another question. Wich android version do you have before installing this one?.

Excuse my English.

Thanks.

Hi,

Sorry for late responde, it's been a busy weekend.

So, I repeated the completed process and works fine. But, its important the fact that I'm installing over 4.0.4 Official.

I will try now flashing 4.0.3 and repeat all the process, but if you don't want to wait for my answer, I recommend you to download 4.0.4 and install it using live suite with complete erase. And then, repeat the process for JB.

Edited
Seems like don't work when you are updating from 4.0.3. Please update to 4.0.4 official before the installation of this ROM.

Cheers,
Starcarr

Nice job STARCARR!
Gotta try it out when I get home...
What is the performance like? I downgraded to Gingerbread, just because the ICS was quite sluggish, so.. How is it on JB?

The performance is nice, buuuut... I highly recommend to disable google search, because Google Now consumes a lot of memory and slows the system. The speeds increase so much without it.

Go to Settings -> Apps -> ALL -> Google Search -> Disable

I'll update first post with that info.

Got mine AdvancedII few weeks ago second hand for 65 euro and was hoping for some CM10. Been watching this thread with some hope. Seems like I will give this a spin tomorrow. Thnx for the updates.

Edit : I've got some bad news and good news. The good news is , that i finally understand how to operate live suit pack. So at the moment I am able to flash img files onto my tab successfuly; however,
I have been able to do so by doing additional research on HOW TO. To be honest with you, some noob gonna find this thread and most likely will be far away from successful upgrade because of the information provided in a MILE-BY-MILE style, rather than step-by-step. Anyway, I like the live suit and full imgs, but i get stuck on the installing CWM ( device not found ). Therefore, I would like to suggest to build complete img file ( like those 300MB ) , if that is EZ enuff and/or possible @ all. User ends up using one app instead of complicated use of many this way. If thats not an option, would any1 pls direct me to some more meaningful place that will explain to me how to deal with this CWM approach? THnx . Once I'll have the 4.1 up and running i will definitely have to write more meaningful tutorial for the noobs. [ not saying that the author can't write properly ... its just that those briliant ppl usually making this stuff happen, don't have time to waste with lengthy tutorials for simple minds )PEACE OUT

Well i tried the JB on the device, but I'm back to gingerbread. I just cannot use any of the ICS or this rom. It's sooo sluggish.
Gingerbread VS ICS or this JB is like a night and day. GB is amazingly smooth, but this isn't ..

Hi,

I finally could install the JB on my N7A2, but I think it's so slow.

I've already disabled the Google Search, but it's still slow.

I'll keep it running and will make some tests, and if I find some tip in order to make it faster, I'll let you know.

Thanks for you effort on porting this to our tablet...

Well, I've tried GB and it was extremely faster than anything else ( i did not try JB yet ) , but did you manage to get the sound working ? Once I've realized the sound is a no go , i didn't even bother to check out the hdmi on it.
