I'm happy with my Fire (after stepping up from an accident damaged Aurora2) and learned waiting a little while was a good thing, the Fire is a much better tablet for only a little more money.

I think I'll hang on for the 2nd gen of Ainol quad cores.....but looking at these models (tempting as some of them are) I think they're just going to get better & better & buying the 2nd wave will be a bit of a no-brainer.

Best value manufacturer on the market?
Looking like it to me. :good:

Hi everybody,

What is happening ? I am a little confused about "quad core" future devices and announcements related to them.

As far as I know, ainol.com is the official site of Ainol. There you can find Novo 7 Legend specs. Those specs include processor A13 for Novo 7 Legend.

I found an explanation here:

http://micdigi.com/2...inner-a13-chip/

The explanation about A13 chip says it is even less powerful than an A10 chip.

Novo 7 Legend really has quad core processor ? and what about the other quad core models refered in this thread ?

Thanks to anybody who can clarify.

Good luck

Interesting find.

That means those Ainol catalog scans on page one are not accurate (anymore).
The Legend is obviously a low-end tablet, with its 800x600 TN LCD screen and 3000mAh battery. It would have been weird if it really had gotten a quad-core CPU.
Now it's apparently an A13 as you said, and only 512MB of RAM.

For the other tablets, the specifications could change as well from what the catalog told us. We'll have to wait and see.

I have read somewhere at a chinese site (I forgot how I got there. I was just browsing through google results.) that ATM7029 will actually have Mali-400 MP4. The same as the famous rk3066 chip albeit clocked lower @ 240 MHz (rk3066 is @ 250 Mhz I believe). I'm not sure how true the claim was. I'll try to look for the source.

Yes, I've mentioned that here as well.

These new tablets have very low resolution cameras.

Who wants a 0.3 front and 2.0 rear cameras?

The fire has 2.0 and 5.0 cameras.

The cameras sound completely useless. Ainol is making people choose between gps or usable cameras.

Ainol must think their customers can not afford to buy both. Instead they chase away customers who will think Ainol products are junk because of the camera specifications.

If I had to choose, I will prefer the fire/flame camera over the captain's larger screen, quad core cpu, 1080 resolution, and gps.

But, I want everything, so maybe I will wait for Ainol to make it or buy from another manufacturer.

If true, then really good news. Mali-400MP4 rocks!!!

Vivante GPU is on the low end for 3D gaming and not worth getting.

GLBenchmark should tell us the real story. =)
*YUANDAO N80 DUAL (RK3066)
*CUBE U30GT (RK3066)- Defective; buttons broke in 2-3 weeks; Bad quality control!!! Must return to China for repair! =(
*WOPAD I7 (RK2918)

Wow, did this just pop up or did I miss it?

http://www.ainol-nov...tooth-16gb.html

Considering that the quad core products are still vapoware and they are taking pre-orders for this and other new dual core chips I think this might be the sign they have wised up to the GPU core on this device.

A RK3066 Ainol Tablet is much more exciting to me than anything with a GC1000!!!!

Looks like a well specced tab. 2x USB ports, both OTG hosts. G sensor, Accelerometer and Gyroscope. iPad Mini screen and Rockchip 3066 SoC.

Possible replacement for the Aurora II in Ainol's product line??

Why would the A2's replacement be an 8 inch tablet? :nea:

2x USB ports,

Why would you need two usb ports? Surely you'd just use a USB hub (powered or not)?

"Rockchip socs are a con for aosp ROM developers" con? I take it that means a bad thing...?

Looks more like a no name tablet than an Ainol. There is not even a logo on it.

Makes me suspicous that ainol-novo.com isn't Ainol's official web site?

If I'm mistaking, why does it looks so bad? Also, why do we see a link to a competitor's tablet seller?

Unless I am mistaken Cube and Ainol are two different companies.

Why get the M2 since the issues has been fixed on the M3? The Pipo M2 has a 9.7" screen with a 1024X768 resolution which has a 132 pixel per inch count. I find my Playbook a bit too pixelated with it's 169 pixel per inch count and I was really wondering how low we could go to still feel confortable.

Also, forgot to mention even the $79 Ainol Legend has a pixel per inch count of 143.

My thoughts exactly. If this "Spider" is an Ainol tablet, why isn't it called "Ainol Novo 8" and why didn't we hear about it sooner?
If you do a whois lookup on ainol.com and ainol-novo.com, you get quite different information. Both seem to be based in Shenzhen, however.
Ainol-novo.com claims to be THE official Ainol store, but there's so much misinformation on that site that I doubt it. Maybe they're an official, licensed store, but I don't think they're the same company as Ainol.

Wow, a new tablet. With the RK3066 SOC! :D

And yes... it's odd that there was no news about this new tablet beforehand. :\

But man... the pricing on this is good. So many features for $140. :p
