Hi, I'm new here and a learner. Thinking of buying the Flame2. Checked out the GC1000 specs and am wanting advice re: what aspects of the GPU are low?

GLBenchmark is the best program for GPU testing. Very intense and thorough. Here are results by GPU:
GLBenchmark GPU Results

Notice where GC860 is? GC1000 would be *slightly* better than that. Click the links to see that actual tablet list and ranking within those GPU results.

PS, Benchmarks are better for gauging performance instead of specs. ie. some company may give the best specs but performance testing reveals the truth. =)

*MINIX NEO X5 (RK3066) - OK. Not fun because uses mouse cursor.
*YUANDAO N80 DUAL (RK3066) - Very good
*CUBE U30GT (RK3066)- Defective; buttons broke in 2-3 weeks; Bad quality control!!! I will never buy a Cube again!!! - Very good while working
*WOPAD I7 (RK2918)- About OK. Sluggish because has weaker ARM chip (RK2918) & less RAM (512 MB).

Interesting results. So Mali 400 is even better than the GC2000. Wasn't expecting that.

Appears that way, though there is only 1 tested tablet for GC2000 & GC860. Want to see more tablets tested and popular brands too. That way can know for sure but do not expect the results to change by much.

GLBenchmark is the best program for testing out GPUs. It does really intense testing of the GPU and shows who is king of gaming performance. =)

The Captain is still mentioned in Ainol's latest catalog. However, the resolution has been downgraded from 1920x1200 to 1280x800.
But given what we now know about the ATM7029 (weak Cortex-A5 CPU and bad GC1000 GPU), I wouldn't get one anyway if it's really based on that chip.
