Hi Everyone,

I preordered the 'Window N70 Dual Core HD 1.6GHz RK3066 7inch IPS 1280*800 Android 4.1 HDMI 16GB' tablet today from Merimobiles. Has any one else done this? Do you have you any thoughts on this tablet due to be released around the 10th October? Do you think it will be better than the Novo fire?

I think it would be almost equivalent. On the one hand the lack of camera, stupid cap and a weak battery, the other - a weak processor and anything else that will tell Ainol owners.

Personally, I dont see a need for a rear cam since my phone has 5mp and can take HD vids.
The new N70 doesnt have IPS screen either. The higher res will just mean the SoC will have to work harder for games (vids/movies should be fine)(There's some slight stutter on the Fire for gaming).

I'll choose the 1024*600 IPS N70 instead.

Ooops.

Hmmm...higher res for a higher price. I'll still choose the N70 then. I wanna game on a tab.

storage space is cheap, no? u can just get another 32gb to add on. i wouldn't pay 5 or 10 bucks more for another 8/16gb when i can just get a microSD which is cheaper when comparing the extra space.

going with the N70HD is not worth it if your a gamer, if you just intend to play some puzzle games, do some web browsing and reading then it should work great because of the higher resolution. But for the latest 3d games I wouldn't get it, you could just get the regular N70 and it will cost you less and get the job done a little better.

When it comes to storage that extra 8gigs that the 16gig one has comes in handy for downloading tons of big games to the tablet, the 8gig one will fill up pretty fast.

I have a 32gb micro sd card and I've only used about 4gb of it so far, and I doubt that I will fill it up, but the internal SD is filling up pretty quick.

I just received mine today. I would say it feels so much smoother than my old Wopad i7. The screen is sharp too. I am not too sure about battery life as yet. I will try a video playing test to see how long the battery can last after a full charge. By the way, mine is the 16GB Yuandao N70 Dual Core HD.

I got mine yesterday, Why oh Why did no one else mention the cap?! I absolutely love the speed etc and it works smoothly, everything is perfect except for one thing... When the cap is open the SD card is inaccessible because it pops out a bit, It isn't like the normal push in til it clicks slot. Is this the way all of the N70's are or am I being too delicate with mine? Because putting files on the internal partition, then having to close the cap, and then Transfer them to my external card is a right Pita.

Must be yours, the cap is fine on mine... N70 (regular version) but I'm sure the caps are the same. The SD card should not pop out, you might want to look into that.

I second this, the microSD goes inside all the way, there is a spring system that clicks and keeps it in place inside. When removing the cap which is over the connectors the microSD remains inside until I press on it to release it.

Yours must be faulty. My N70HD microSD slot works with a spring system too.

if you are a gamer and want solid big frames in games go with the Rockchip
amlogic is not so good for games (frames may drop to 15fps and lower , depends on the game)

Hey guys,

Got my new N70HD a couple of days ago but I had some trouble with random freeze/lock-ups (3 times in 2 days with light use) and the battery indicator being stuck at 100%.
I just installed TianLong V2 custom firmware hoping to solve the aforementioned problems. Too early to know about the freeze issues, but the battery indicator is still stuck at 100%.
Third party software installed from the market also report 100% battery all the time - though I know it can't be true.

Any idea what the issue might be? Should I return the tablet or something? :(

Btw, TianLong firmware works great, with full access to Google Market among other things.

Thanks in advance!

Of course, it came with an official firmware (November 2012 if I recall correctly).
Since then one or two more official firmwares were released but didn't try installing those, I went for the custom one right away.
Seeing that the issue wasn't addressed with the custom ROM (which is also based on official firmware), I'm starting to believe this has something to do with hardware malfunction. :S
