I'm confused now....

What do you want to flash your tablet to? The 1214 Zenithink ROM or CT's CM10.1?

If you want a 2GB data partition, you need to use both the altered kernel and the recovery files.... If you use the original recovery from the 1214 ROM, the partition sizes won't get altered, as the tablet looks at the partition table in the recovery file to know what to format the partitions too...

For the 1214 Zenithink ROM, these are the files you should download, rename (to ZT283.kernel and ZT283.recovery), and put in the zt-update folder, they are in the main folder (all the way on the bottom)....
http://www.mediafire...ta_ZT283.kernel
http://www.mediafire..._ZT283.recovery

The ones in the 0303_CM10.1_I1_2a_2GBData_untested folder are just for Christian Troy's CM10.1 ROM...

Yeah, sorry, I should've asked first, but the answer to your second question is 1214, I've already tried the CM10.1 (quite nice and fast, not as fast as the PA though). Anyway, thanx again for the enlightenment. I shall try once again :)

greetings!

P.S.: you should find something in your bank account for all this troubling ;)

Omarahum,

Mostly you are well informed. Do you have any news about this?
The Zenithink-site shows nothing about this C98.

Seems Zenithink has posted info on the C98 now...

It also looks like they've removed the C97 from the product section. Main difference in the C98 is the quad core cpu, but is the screen inferior to the C97?

For the C97 it says "9.7 inch IPS Ten-point Capacitive Screen", but with the C98 it just says "9.7 inch Multi-point Capacitive Screen", so they might be different....

Got some more information from Zenithink about the C98

The screen is not IPS, but LCD.
so i think we just have to wait for a sample or review, if the screen is good.

the cpu is amlogic A31 quadcore acoording Zenithink.
But i can't find anything that amlogic also produce a a31 quadcore

According to the C98 pic, it's an AllWinner A31... But I thought that was a Cortex A7 CPU, Zenithink says Cortex A9?

Indeed, so it must be the allwinner A31
Zenithink added 'allwinner' in the picture and had to refresh my browser to see it
A31 seems to be a good CPU

i hope, they put a good screen into the tablet !

Just to say thanks omarahum for the links to the 1214 rom and the 2gb partition. I've been using the rom for just over a month and it's cured the speaker pop sound when the tablet is in idle and I find it a lot more stable than the 0927 rom.

I too am using that ROM with the 2GB partition and I've to also report that the annoying popping is gone :)
Thanks omarahum!

You're welcome guys, but all I did was post the download link and do my 2GB data mod on the kernel and recovery....

Curious though, I just found this 0222 ROM, but I think it's exactly the same as the 1214, even though the readme says 2013-02-22- Fix system unstable bug., no?

Hmm.. just realized that my internal storage is no longer mounted after the tablet is restarted. It mounts for a second and then it's nowhere to be found.. I saw this behaviour in the system -> storage immediately after I restart.. I didn't install any new apps or anything, it just disappeared. Has anyone experienced this?
Thanks

PS. Just remembered, the only thing I recently installed was nova launcher, which I don't have any more..

Based on the problems I encountered, described in the previous reply in this topic, I tried to flash the 0222 ROM, unsuccessfully. I got stuck at first at the "ANDRIOD" logo and nothing loaded in up to 10 mins. Then I re-flashed the 1214 without any problems. Then, this morning I tried again, but this time stuck at the updating procedure. All the formatting was successful, but after that the "updading OEM" lasted for more than 5 mins and I had to stop it. I am now using the 1214 ROM with the unmodified kernel, i.e. 1GB.

Anyone else tried it?

greetings
