You will need a Standard 3G ("Mobile Data") SIM card (not a 2G SIM) - a micro SIM should work with the relevant adapter
Tablet turned OFF
With the tablet screen facing up SIM should be inserted so you can see the metal "contacts" as it goes in (it IS possible to insert SIM "upside down" obviously it wont work then!)
Other Manufacturers SIM card orientation/Process may be different
Turn tablet ON
Network Operators (choose a network operator)
It should now look for networks Automatically and once it picks it up should take you back to the "Mobile network settings" OR you may need to press “Search Networks/Select automatically”
If it doesn't you may need to REBOOT the tablet and repeat this entire step
Now you need to set up the Access Point Names (APN)
These entries are Case Sensitive (eg capital's/lowercase must be typed exactly as you have been informed).
If you have an Android Mobile Phone it may be possible to use the APN settings - however sometimes these seem to use a combined APN other times separate APN's for Internet/WAP/MMS etc
Recommend that you contact your Mobile Network Operator for the correct settings (tell them you have a Google Nexus 7 or Samsung Tablet) as the information from the internet is proving to be:
Incorrect/Inaccurate or Incomplete
Click Access Point Names (in Mobile network settings) - you should find some pre-populated (these may or may not work). This will be a good indication that
You have a 3G SIM, you have inserted the SIM correctly and if you don't see any options that there is a problem
To create your own APN click on the "3 Squares" in top right hand corner and select NEW APN
Go down each setting and enter the information given to you by your mobile network provider
Once you have entered all the information it will create a new APN which you can then select by touching the circle on the right hand side (it will fill with a blue/green dot)
Make sure the 3G Modem is turned ON (it should be ticked "ON" by default)
IF NOT you will probably have to first turn the WiFi OFF to be able to put the tick in the box (you can turn WiFi back on afterwards)
To use 3G rather than WiFi you will need to turn the WiFi OFF
WiFi Off/On slider
Sometimes the APN's get corrupted. If this happens it will be necessary to reset you APN's back to stock.
Please remove the SIM card, reboot or turn on the tablet
Access Point Names
Press the 3 Squares in top right corner and select
Restore defaults (it should take a little while to reset everything)
Turn tablet OFF
Repeat Install Process
If you are still unable to access 3G then it is worth trying on the Stock ROM(s)
M2 3G has 3 x versions (see RED SECTION)
1) No longer showing on website but downloaded as "PIPO M2 3G_120924" Here
2) Firmware of PIPO M2 3G_20121108 - which when you download it is ACTUALLY called "update_DS973H_PIPO_M2_优化TP.img" Here
HOWEVER, the latest M2 3G's seem to be preloaded with a different firmware, which doesn't appear to available from Pipo yet.
3) RK30_ANDROID4.1.1-SDK-v1.00.00 DS975-eng 4.1.1 JRO03H 20121106.144826 release-keys
For rooting stock rom TPSarky seems to work fine

I am now totally confused with whats going on regards the Pipo M2 3G. I am going to try flashing the stock rom and see if I can get 3g to work although reading some posts it apparently will screw my micro sd.
Is there a post anywhere with the various roms or firmware/software available for the 3G. If not would it be possible to make a new post, say in the Firmware section with just the firmware/software for the Pipo M2 3G in it? Then lock it so no one can post replies in there. We would then have a fixed repository where we know everything is stored. Just a thought.

strontium class 10 32 GB card succesfully being read on my m2 max 3G..
only the wifi seems to be a little weak..no problem in same room ..but not pickin up properly if door closed and/or in the next room while my notebook does..any cures?
the touch is superb..buttons fine..managed to charge it 100% in a couple of hours..more than 24 hours after charge still 60% left..but usage not much
speakers seem ok(not very loud..but i have no experince with anyother tab as this is my first one)..the earphone effect is superb!
able to remove the chinese apps with ease..
yet to root it..
able to put in a 3G sim and internet is working on the tablet..
my pipo max m2 is at present in the stock pipo firmware DSH 975 20121106 and is yet to be rooted! (i first activated the 3G through a non android phone and saved the APN automatically given by my service provider.i swithced off the wifi and then the tablet, inserted the sim then switched tablet back on and it automatially detected and latched to my service providers network)
getting only around 60kbps upload and download.is it because of the inherent wcdma 2100hz in this tablet or is it h poor speeds because of poor service by the provider???
One drawback with this stock firmware is that the settings does not show which network provider giving the 3G..have to go into below data access in settings to see...
if bothe wifi is on and connected and the 3G is on and connected then which network is used for data..wifi or the 3G one???
Another drawback is no calling/recieving facility..so only internet 3G is working without ability to make or recieve calls.
yet to check hdmi
am yet to put the screen guard..anyone put one..should i use a screen guard or not?
on stock rom able to get 3G download speeds of upto 4 mbps and upload upto 1.5mpbs so this is not a tablet issue but service provider issue..
flshed to TNT firmware version 2.0 for max 3G based on stock rom 20121108 dsh 273h(same as dsh 275 1106) and sd 32 gb sd card and sim 3G working fine..

shows 3G sometimes E..speeds poor..upload 55-60kbps and downlaod 40-50 kbps..not sure what the issue is.. update got max upload sp:-) :-) end 4500kbps & 1500 kbps download so it seems more of service provider issue.....
by the way what should be the ideal normal 3G speed versus edge 2G speeds??
with wifi i get 3Mbps download on my 4 Mbps connection
update...but majority its logged in2g/edge with poor net speed..so probably this is a service provider issue..

My pipo M2 3G acts the same strange way as somebody mensioned earlier. After it locks or being locked after few minutes it does nothing. Needs restart. It's really annoying. Does anyone have any ideas? The other interesting thing is if i leave radio running lets say app tune-in so it never gets stuck in that strange way, it always unlocks and can be used any time. thanks for any ideas.
