Cannot check right now. But I see Google_PlayStore_v3_47 in Patche.zip. Did you apply this patch after installing Novo7Fire.zip?

Does anyone know how to get rid of the Chinese weather app that just keeps giving you status messages on your taskbar?
I am unable to flash a "clean" update right now because I have a TM fire and there are no unofficial firmware releases for it yet.

Oh and I'm using Dolphin Browser to browse the web and Quickpic to manage my pics and vids

get the app "NoBloat" with it you can delete even system apps. Be carefull only to deinstall the Chinese preinstalled apps and not crucial system apps.

Limited offer started on google play today. You can get bunch of apps for £0.25 each.
My today's favourite would be OfficeSuite Pro for £0.25.
Good deal :)

Thanks Fusch,

That looks like another "essantial" app to have.
I installed it but I still can't figure out what app is the weather app.

I cant remember the exact name of it but i simply got rid of all apps with chinese symbols in the name or an anime style icon.

Make sure to use the backup and delete option so in case you deleted the wrong app you can simply use your backup file for it

I used the "disable" function at first to figure out what app it was. It turned out to be the "calendar" app.
Now that I knew what app it was I, like you suggested, chose the backup and uninstall function. Works great!

I found another must have app: Splashtop HD or Splashtop 2. It's a remote desktop software that is super easy to configure (You don't even need to register for an account if you use the HD version).

Solo PDF is my contribution to the list, its a great free PDF reader for tablets.

It's nice, but cannot rotate pages.

BTW: is there any Android version for LibreOffice?

Want to update your firmware? (Instructions here.) First of all: make a backup of your stock firmware, and write down its version name/number (QM or TM?).
AML Flash tool user guide. (Not enough? Click here.)
Here is how to check your system details. Modify the language settings, if you have Chinese after the update.

LibreOffice is still under development, here's some progress: link.
I like EzPDFreader, it's really good for Fire's resolution.

Keyboard:
Go keyboard ( This is the only keyboard I've found that has chinese input while still having split keyboard). The others I've found either have really tiny text or do not support split keyboards.

perfect keyboard support splitting layout. I do recommend it. When split, keyboard is a tiny smaller but still usable with ease.

Before I buy my tablet, has anyone tried Adobe Photoshop Touch on the Fire/Flame?
It would be great editing images after using the back camera.

Has anyone got Adobe Flash Player working with Dolphin Browser?
I've tried but whenever I open flash content from facebook I get asked to install flash. Tried to install a flash apk from xdevelopers but I just get a "not installed" message. Also tried deleting the pre-installed flash version (0930FeiyuTM) first but still couldn't install.
I think pat wrote a post about how to get it working but I'm unable to find it.
