My hannspad 1653 had been off for a few months, but I came back to using it (mainly as a reader) and the wifi failed to work, i subsequently have tried the JB-alpha rom, flashback, hannstitan, the lot, and whilst they all boot and operate well, my wifi just doesn't find the networks around me. When i click the wifi tick it searches, then just says "wifi" with a tick, but i am aware of at least 3 wifi networks around me with full strength (my home broadband and my iPhone tethered)

I have a feeling its to do with the kernal but could it just be broken?.. No matter what i try i cant get it to work, and i cant find an original stock rom (pre froyo 2.2.2) to test it, i would settle for using old stock if it meant i got my wifi back!

Thanks if anyone can help, i love the tablet and dont want to give it up!

thanks! :good:

Wonder if it your kernel is the problem. For every diferent rom youve got a other kernel. At the moment i am using ICS with the wolfmod latest ICS kernel. It works fine even the Wifi. If you have tried that and it aint working... Then you may consider your Wifi defecttive.

For the stock rom. You can find some firmware at topics wich describe how to return youre pad from being bricked. Or posts with backup and recover instructions.

Feel free to ask questions when you have more issues.

First things first... Please don't post questions in the development forum. That forum is for rom posting only. I've moved this thread into the general forum.

If you've flashed various different roms then you've also tried different kernels as they come packaged with Hannspad roms.

Does the wifi work with any rom? How about the stock rom?

Have you tried connecting your Hannspad to another wireless network? Wifi problems often end up actually being router problems.

Apologies gents, I shall stick here..

As for kernel/rom combo, i have been trying various ones but i shall try ICS wolfmod with the kernel and report back. I managed to flash a stock 2.2.2 froyo but remember reading something about the wireless not working for some people after 2.0 but I guess this would have been resolved now..

I tried following the disaster recovery post but when it got to the nvflash part (with the .bat) I was lost as those files were not included, and i couldn't find them in related posts, I don't want to sound like a n00b as i am relatively experienced in flashing etc, but I just couldnt find the related files/folders.

As for the Wifi networks, I find it so odd that my iPhone finds a number of networks (the neighbours on BT, mine on Virgin and an iPhone hotspot) yet the Hannspad doesnt find any, it does however very occasionally pick up the weakest of signal from other networks but then loses them (they are the lowest mark on the wifi strength) even when I'm sitting next to the router it fails to register at all.

I shall have another go but its the second day of me tinkering with it, but if you could shed any light onto the nvflash part that would be greatly apprecited! :drinks:
