Despite the best efforts of the bbc and adobe we are still able to watch BBC iplayer on our Hannspad. However, a new sound problem has arisen this week. Using the speakers, the sound track is correct, but if headphones are plugged in, the sound on the headphones is not correct.

Instead of playing the proper soundtrack, the sound on the headphones seems to generally be a music track, sometimes with the proper audio faintly in the background. The rogue music track is sometimes the theme music for the programme; other times it is too muffled to tell.

When we unplug the headphones, there is a brief (2 sec?) period of silence before the speakers kick in with the proper audio track.

The headphones work ok on other (non-flash) applications, so i assume it is a software problem. Tried different headphones with same result, and tried the headphones in other devices and they appear to be ok.

Have reset the Hannspad to factory settings and re-installed flash, both versions 10.2 and 10.3, with same effect.

Can anyone suggest what might be going on, or a better way to get at bbc / itv programs now that flash has gone bang?

After the problem appeared I returned everything to stock ROM and used the default browser. I have not tried reinstalling the iplayer app yet.

Before this, we were having no real problems with bbc iplayer on the browser, although the bbc iplayer app had stopped being usable quite a while ago.

Can't understand how there is different sound on the headphones to what is on the speakers.

No, problem is still there, but I have given up using headphones!

If you find a solution, please post it here.
