[ HOW-TO'S ]

CyanogenMod: Switch External SD and Internal SD

Go to the build.prop (Use a file explorer and make sure it can go to root AND make /system editable, then go to: root/system/build.prop Open it up with a text editor)

ro.vold.switchablepair=/storage/sdcard0,/storage/sdcard1
persist.sys.vold.switchexternal=0

if you put 1 to the last one you'll have internal/external memories switched.

So you will get:
ro.vold.switchablepair=/storage/sdcard0,/storage/sdcard1
persist.sys.vold.switchexternal=1

Save it and restart the tablet.

DarkElf: Switch External SD and Internal SD:

Flash The SD revert patch AFTER you've flashed the rom

Battery meter stays at 100% FIX

there have a solution posted at Ainol forum and this method are from AML engineer , it seem can fix the 100% battery problem, hope this can help.

Step 1. your tablet must be rooted.
Step 2. get any Terminal command line apps from google play
Step 3. in the Terminal apps type "su"(without quote) and [Enter] change user to root, then type the following command :

echo B8 > /sys/devices/i2c-2/2-0034/axp20_reg

Press [Enter]

echo B820 > /sys/devices/i2c-2/2-0034/axp20_reg

Press [Enter]
Step 4. at this time you can reboot your tablet and the battery will run down to 5%, then you can try to full charge your tablet to see the problem is fixed or not.

IF NOT FIXED:

ONLY do the following Step 5 to 6 if you still got battery stuck after Step 1 to 4
Step 5. if the problem still exist, then open the Terminal apps again and type the following command :

echo 08 > /sys/devices/i2c-2/2-0034/axp20_reg

Press [Enter]

echo 0800 > /sys/devices/i2c-2/2-0034/axp20_reg

Press [Enter]
Step 6. reboot to take effect.

Let HOME Button behave like BACK button

If you want that HOME button behaves like BACK button (similar DarkElf), go to
/system/usr/keylayout/Vendor_0001_Product_0001.kl
open it with a text editor (you can use root explorer)

key 158 BACKkey 229 MENUkey 139 MENUkey 96 DPAD_CENTERkey 232 DPAD_CENTERkey 108 DPAD_DOWNkey 103 DPAD_UPkey 102 HOMEkey 105 DPAD_LEFTkey 106 DPAD_RIGHTkey 115 VOLUME_UP WAKEkey 114 VOLUME_DOWN WAKEkey 116 POWER WAKE

change
key 102 HOME
to
key 102 BACK

Notice it is only for BACK action, the long press for HOME will still behave as HOME function.

Remove the Phone Signal bar

This depends on your ROM.
For CM based roms: Settings > System > Status Bar > Signal Status Style > Hidden
For DarkElf: Use a file explorer and go to your root > System > Build.prop > Open with a Editor > Search for the line hw.nophone=false > make that false a true, save and restart. (Make sure you can write on root, see settings for the file explorer / editor)

I will try to update this thread with every release, but it might take a while due to holidays and work. :drinks:

Good to read, I get the feeling we are getting more and more roms. I did not check the forums for like 2 days and got a total overload of new posts (which is in fact very good, I love the Elf II and I'd love to see more development). Thought that in fact, I'm not a developer myself (only know some xml, html, sql and a lot of multimedia design stuff) and I'd like to help the Elf II community a bit. I removed all the previous rom versions like all of the official rom links, since I usually hope the latest version only improves compared to the previous one (not like the facebook app). :p

Ok, I've tried to keep this one up to date for now. I'll be back in 2 weeks, if anyone wants a quick change or add, just post below this message and I will see if I can edit the message within my holiday.

Hi,

You may want to add a link to my thread here on SlateDroid.com on getting Linux (Ubuntu Precise) running on the Elf II:

http://www.slatedroi...i-for-download/

A link to the downloadable SD card image can be found in the first post in the thread, as well as instructions on how to install and use.

As far as I know, it's the first (and only for now) Linux distribution to be available on a dual core Amlogic tablet.

In the Johnny Carson show of way back, Ed Mc Mann used to say:"Right here in one place is EVERYTHING ANYBODY WOULD EVER NEED!" And Carson would soon say:"Wrong ol Botulism breath, not everything!"

But to me, being new to the world of Android software, it is everything! Thanks...... :yahoo:

Thanks all. We can make a poll with that same question. My current rom is CM 9. It's smooth, got enough memory left and works fine for the things I do.
Added a couple of how-to's to the list. Things that are asked more often these time...
