Can you do an extensive review of the tablet with pics? video if you can. All the other reviews I've read are not very informative.

Sounds good.

Hoping to get one myself for review. Just finishing off my review of the Cube mini U30GT. http://www.flashmyan...read.php?t=1730

Nice review of the Cube mini U30GT Jezzer. :)

3D Gaming on a tablet is always going to be an unavoidable problem for heat generation (heck I won't even game on a laptop/netbook for the same reason, and they do have small vents, small fans, and more adequate heatsinks). Heat definitely shortens the life of such devices (not infrequently, dramatically), and also increases unreliability.

Somebody needs to produce a dedicated gaming tablet, with an alloy back incorporating a heatpipe heatsink arrangement, imho, and if no fan assist is involved (undesirable with something frequently battery powered), then include well designed complementary airflow vents into the back (powered airflow could be incorporated into a small gaming stand to take advantage of those vents then, along with something like a bluetooth game controller).

If I ever game with mine, I will probably restrict it to something like solitaire. *grins*

How is the battery life?

Because it is odd it got only 3250MA, compared to Aurora Fire with 5000MA...^^

Thanks Ogri :good: Yes when you see the tiny space they are working with to dissipate all that heat it really could do with better design.
Although heat pipes etc might add to the cost a little

Do you have any dead pixels? According to this the Pipo U1 apparently has dead pixel issues.

Could you do a benchmark to see what would the score be? To compare with Ainol Novo 7 Fire for example.

Is the Pipo U1 the only RK3066 tablet with Jellybean 4.1?

in what size grayson73, there are more than just the pipo u1, but they are the larger sizes... also one of the guys on here has ported 4.1 to the Window N70, and I think the cube mini has 4.1 also because that is the version he used.

I'm eyeing on this tab, but a little bit turned off about the battery capacity. Can you share the battery life of this tab?

It is odd it has only 3200 MAH or 3500 MAH. I find it is the lowest compared to the other RK3066 Tabs.

Aurora fire has 5000 MAH.

Can anybody explain this?

Theres actually some good vid reviews that have been posted on youtube and id like to do some screen shots with a antutu bench mark but ive never used that app actually! If someone can send me a link on how to ill be glad to post it! Ill post tomorrow a hands on review of the hardware at least. And maybe some video. As far as dead pixels none found here but there is some screen bright spots when watching movies but nothing to make me hate it. The ips is sweet even in the daylight. Bluetooth file transfers were great and wifi was strong. I emailed theyre support email address and asked about MHL support and they said no to that. Maybe futire update? Anybody know why gameloft games dont install on thease rk3066 tablets running 4.1.1?

For rooting, I haven't tried it but apparently this method works for a number of rk 3066 devices. Might be worth a try.

Nice U30GT mini review Jezzer. I have to say from all the youtube videos I have watched the U1 is looking super smooth, much better than I thought it would be. The launcher customizations are fugly and unnecessary IMO but easily remedied with apex launcher or similar.

If someone can comment on the battery life that would be much appreciated.

Yeah, I'm interested in the battery life of the Pipo U1 too - already placed orders in two sellers for one, and the battery life is my only doubt about the tablet.

Thanks sere83.

The cube mini has 3200 mah battery and in use the battery life doesn't seem so great. On first charge starting at 95% it lasted for nearly 3.5 hours. That's with intensive use playing games etc. The second charge (100%) lasted just over 7 hrs but that included lots of idle time as I was shooting/editing the video review.

I would expect this to equate to about 5 hrs of typical use on a full charge. It doesn't seem very long in use compared to the Nexus 7 or Cube U30GT 10.1 inch version.

The Pipo U1 looks very nice but I wonder about battery life too.

Does the Cube U30GT have the longest battery life of all RK3066 tablets, regardless of screen size?

I used to regularly get 10 to 11 hours use on a full charge on my U30GT. That must certainly be up there with the best.

Yeah the annoying thing is, there is almost definitely space to put in a bigger battery and it would not add too much cost, why PIPO went for a sub 4000mah unit is baffling to me especially when using a higher res 1280x800 display. Would also like to see these china companies focus on implementing proper linear discharging. Both the rk3066 and AMLogic MX are capable of great battery scores with a decent sized cell and some optimisation, as you mention (and from other reviews I have read) the U30GT has strong battery performance. Juice defender may also be an option.
