Improve the WiFi?

Is there any way to improve the WiFi reception on the Gemei G9, preferably software tweak rather than hardware modification.

I'm running the latest stock FW with tasselhof tweaks - it's most stable (long term) for me, so would rather stick with it and tweak WiFi settings somehow.

I am in the same boat. At just 15 feet away signal strength drops to 2 bars, and download speed just 1 meg. Laptop and ipad gets15 meg speeds at same distance
