Hi. I installed this firmware, but I've having issues and had issues with all 3 firmware versions I tried.
Also, this version seems to have disappeared off their official website. only the 1.0 7-11 one is up. I hope a fixed one comes soon.
problems so far with this version that I'm having.
YouTube crashes at launch.
Google calendar will NOT sync. sync is greyed out as not even an option..
Google Maps will not find location.
sometimes it will not come out of sleep. locks tight, refuses to power up.. unless you push the tiny reset.

If you or anyone could help me, I want to love this tablet because I really liked the Onda Vi40 Elite SC, and as this new one scores a 9400 in AnTuTu, but at the moment this firmware needs lots of TLC. someone point me to the right place or what to do if I missed something.

Hello mate try and keep it simple so you get the update right..Dont worry your soon have it sorted maybe it glitches or something during update as it dont sound well.

1)download all these files, this is latest vi40 dual core update
http://www.mediafire...stirl15i4q337ri
http://www.mediafire...yuot0odhi13280a
http://www.mediafire...g3d9kb4f820lzl9
http://www.mediafire...b9f2c8aclecb2b4
http://www.mediafire...ri2d3dttgcn2pfe
2)once downloaded copy and paste to the SD/TF card for your device.
3)once copied to sd card turn off device and wait a minute to fully close.
4)boot into recovery by first holding down home key and then holding down power button at the same time until white android icon appears on screen and release buttons and wait and do not touch
5)it should start to automatically apply this update to your device, leave until device has updated completely and device has rebooted and all should be fine and correct update applied.

Hope this is a help

I'm having some trouble flashing to this new firmware... If I unzip the complete .rar file into root of my SD card, and boot up in recovery mode, should the update run on its own? I tried this and I keep getting the "dead" android with a (!) warning symbol show up on my screen, rather than anything actually updating. Am I missing a step? I'm pretty new to all this, so any help would be appreciated!

I've done that, and it still doesn't seem to be working. Right now I have "factory_update_param.aml" "u-boot.bin" "uImage_recovery" "update.zip" and "g12refM1005-ota-eng.connor.zhang.zip" on the SD.

Do I also have to unzip the 2 .zip files before I put them onto the SD card?

HI..NO..NO..NO
COPY THE CONTENTS OF UNZIPPED DOWNLOADED FOLDER AND NOT THE FOLDER TO SD CARD (5 OBJECTS).THEN BOOT TO RECOVERY AND UPDATE WILL INSTALL ITSELF AND COMPLETE AFTER REBOOTING ITSELF.

IF YOU KEEP HAVING TROUBLE THEN COPY COMPLETE RAR FILE 0719 UPDATE TO SD CARD THEN BOOT TO RECOVERY AND INSTALL UPDATE MANUALLY

I'm also having some issues with 0719 and wanted to go back to 0711. Tried loading the 0711 files and doing automatic update. Looked to have worked fine but I checked about tablet and it is still 0719. Then I tried to update the 2 zip files manually using recovery and that didn't work either. I even tried to install an earlier version and it didn't work either. For some reason 0719 firmware remains ech time? Any other ideas how I might get back to an earlier version?

Hello,

I downloaded the files, but i was not able to get them to run in recovery mode.

I tried doing an update in recovery mode from the SD card but it did not run automatically.
So I then tried to update it manually by selecting the update.zip file. That installed correctly.
But when I tried running the g12refM1005-ota-eng.connor.zhang.zip file i got a E:signature error.

Can anybody help me with this?

Thanks!

HI THERE,TO GET IT TO UPDATE AUTOMATICALLY YOU NEED TO UNZIP RAR FILE REMOVE CHINESE DOC FILE AND COPY THE REST OF CONTENTS IE THE FILES IN THE FOLDER LESS DOC FILE AND NOT WHOLE FOLDER TO SD CARD AND THEN BOOT TO RECOVERY AND SHOULD BE GOOD.P.S THIS WILL WIPE YOUR DEVICE THIS WAY.
HOPE IT HELPS

Hello,

Thanks for the quick reply and thanks for the warning as well.

I've done what you instructed but for some reason it still doesn't run on recovery mode.

This is how i placed it on the external sd card:
sdcard:\factory_update_param.aml
sdcard:\g12refM1005-ota-eng.connor.zhang.zip
sdcard:\u-boot.bin
sdcard:\uImage_recovery
sdcard:\update.zip

Is there anything wrong with where i placed it?

Thanks in advance!
