It fixes some issues like the battery indicator stuck at 100% and other things. Here's rough Google translation of the changes. You decide if you apply it. Not sure if the root script will still work. In fact if I understand correctly the translation it seems like it's already rooted but can't confirm if really what's being said. Maybe someone who speaks Chinese could translate it better than Google
Data Name: G9TM4.0.4 V2.34 firmware
Adapt to the hardware: G9TM
Data version: V2.34
Date :2012 -11-2
The firmware update:
modify the frequency response range
to adjust the volume to maximum
3. modify backlight lowest brightness
. join the superuser rootexplorer two tools to verify ROOT
5. modify the default bookmark
6. added five wallpaper
7. modify the first frame of the boot logo
. modify the start time to read the SD card slow or unreadable
. modify the battery indicator 100%
10. compressed package containing upgrade tutorial
11. the compression package containing repair power Display APK.
Read on Gemei's forum that it is not compatible with G9T. The only difference between G9T and G9TM is the screen and that requires different firmware.
There is also a beta version of 4.1 (don't know where to get it) but it obviously has too many bugs to be released. Gemei is slow, really slow!

New firmware available on Gemei website for G9TM, not sure if working with G9T "not M". Unfortunately it's not Jelly Bean 4.1 or 4.2

You didn't use the right firmware. That one is meant for the G9TM not the G9T. Hopefully, the recovery partition is the same and you'll be able to reflash using the correct firmware which is this one: http://www.gemeitech...Down.asp?id=225
You'll need to create tf card with your computer than force boot into recovery using the power button and back button of your G9T.

If the buttons do not respond, you can try to force the boot in recovery using adb ...
Prepare a microsd with the correct firmware.
Checks if the tablet is recognized when connected via USB cable to your computer:
Hold down the power button 15 seconds. Then connect it via USB to your computer and hold down the power button 5 seconds.
Open the Windows Device Manager (if you use windows), and see if it detects any new device.
Insert the microsd in G9T
If the device is present, from a command window (cmd), run "adb reboot recovery" (you need the Android SDK)
The tablet should reboot into recovery and install the firmware.
After that the tablet would have to start without any problem.

The newer firmwares are factory rooted.
But I always update busybox and superuser from the market, you may need to run the superuser update fix before succesfully updating superuser though.

My problem is the battery indicator stuck at 100%.
I tried to do the update to Android 4.04, but did not succeed.
I do not know why but I can not.
My request is simple, I need a guide
clear even to a novice, to make the root of the tablet.
In addition, a guide to installing Android 4.4, and to improving
the stability of the tablet would be much appreciated.
I know that many things are written a little here and a little there, but I would not have understood anything,
and clear guidance would be very helpful for people like me who are beginners.
Greetings regards

Gemei G9T is already rooted
Step 2. get any Terminal command line apps from google play: https://play.google....droidterm&hl=en
Step 3. in the Terminal apps type "su"(without quote) and [Enter] change user to root, then type the following command :
echo B8 > /sys/devices/i2c-2/2-0034/axp20_reg
Press [Enter]
echo B820 > /sys/devices/i2c-2/2-0034/axp20_reg
Press [Enter]
Step 4. at this time you can reboot your tablet and the battery will run down to 5%, then you can try to full charge your tablet to see the problem is fixed or not.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
ONLY do the following Step 5 to 6 if you still got battery stuck after Step 1 to 4
Step 5. if the problem still exist, then open the Terminal apps again and type the following command :
echo 08 > /sys/devices/i2c-2/2-0034/axp20_reg
Press [Enter]
echo 0800 > /sys/devices/i2c-2/2-0034/axp20_reg
Press [Enter]
Step 6. reboot to take effect.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PS.
1. let your battery nearly completely discharge (for example watch some movie or play games to run out the battery), it may help to more accurate the battery percentage
2. this method are reset PMU and the softare accurate parameter, the battery will go down to 5% after reboot , no need to worry, charge up the battery to 100% is ok.
I tried it and it solved the issue of gemei G9T battery stuck at 100% (bug).
