I just wanted to start a separate thread for any questions about the device.
I will attempt to answer any and all questions that are asked as I am one of the few that currently has this device in their hands. (or at least believe I will have it in a couple hours)

Thanks!

Hi Mr T.,

Looking forward to your full review and video demonstration.

Right now I am looking for a 9.7" dual-core tablet and will decide between this, the Window N90 II

or the 97S sold at aliexpress. For my uses I would say that 95% of the time I will use it for browsing

webpages and Youtube videos.

So battery life is No. 1 and speed a close second.

Of course forum support is critical and having you involved will help that alot.

I look forward to your future comments. Thanks

Either tablet G9T or N90II will get the job done for you.
The N90II does include built in bluetooth though.

Thanks for all of your work on these reviews. They are very useful.

I too am trying to decide between the Window n90 dual core, Gemei G9T, and the Ramos W22Pro. So a couple of questions, which one would you suggest? I am a teacher and need to have a strong wifi connection, will be running splashtop whiteboard (remote desktop app), and preferably a full size USB port for a keyboard, although I notice the Window n90 does have bluetooth built in, so no dongle required. Are there ROMS available to root them yet? And which has the longest battery life?

For regular "computing" performance, is there a difference between the Cortex A9 & Rockchip set?

The Rockchip is currently beating the AmLogic in performance "benchmarks" by around 25%.
For you the Window N90 II is probably a good choice as you can use a bluetooth keyboard.
The N90II has a great battery life as well...

the biggest issues with the N90II are it is not being recognized by ADB currently which means We/I haven't been able to root or modify it.
currently there aren't any custom ROMS that I am aware of, but it was also just released and those things take time.

My Zenithink is rooted and I am trying to think besides Titanium Backup what other apps require root access. ES File Explorer only needs root access if I want to look at the tablet.

How long do you think it will be before you or someone gets the N90 rooted?

And a question about the Gemei, I have seen specs saying it is 10 pt & other 5 pt. Which is it? And is day to day use, is the 10 point a necessity?

Thanks

My G9T is 5 Point with the current firmware.

And no.. there really isn't any day to day practical use for 10 point...

the only real use I could possibly see is if you are drawing or painting or some such, but even then.... that is some talented work.

Hi Mr. T
I'm just reposting my question in this thread as this seems the right place to do so. In the current G9 model many of us have been facing boot issues because of the CPU and have been forced to underlock at 960mhz but even so some of us are still facing those problems.

have you faced any similar issues in the G9T model? from what I saw in your review it was locked on 1500MHZ with no problem, but my main concern and trouble is on boot up! Once the Tablet is running then it's stable. please let me know! Thanks

I haven't had any boot issues or underclocking needs.

I have a Gemei G9T but there are some local apps (mostly internet banking apps) in Singapore that could not run on it. The error is java.lang.classnotfoundexception on source file:BaseDexClassLoader.java, source class: dalvik.system.baseDexclassloader.

I had no problem running the same apps on my yuandao N90 as well as Aoson M11. I was thinking whether i can flash the firmware on Ramos W22pro on my Gemei G9T since they used the same chips.

Any ideas ?

Regards

Quick question about merimobiles...does the tablet come with a lot of bloat ware? And is it "out of the box" ready or should I be ready to do a lot of flashing?

Just wondering what your thoughts are on the Ramos w22pro, if you have had a chance to look at it. I have narrowed it down to the gemei gt9 or Ramos w22pro. I like the window n90, but that power button on the back kills it for me.

Hi everyone, I've received my Gemei g9t yesterday. tablet works great. But today when I tried to recharge the tablet I've notices it's charging process is very very slow. Almost 10 oercent for an hour.
Has anyone also noticed same kind of problem? I've changed the charging unit with Iphone's and there is no difference.
What should I do? Any advices?

Which firmware version are you on? Try updating to latest (August 22nd).

Hi MrTasselhof & others,

I got a gemei G9T and after one day happy using the sdcard disaperard. It happened when I deleted a file with vlc (beta) but that might have been a coincidence.
After a request in China ;-) they pointed me here I guess implying the suggestion to flash the thing.

I have no I real idea, of how to do that, an on top of it I am an die hard Linux user and have no idea of Windows. But I have a windows partition lying around on my
PC in case I really deed to use it to install an SDK.

The tablet does boot up normaly, but does not mount any sdcard, neither inernally nor externaly. I tried to come into the BIOS with pressing Vol- at startup, but that did not do anything.

There is a staus report saying tahat it is looking for errors on the sdcard, but that goes on forever. Also, I cannot switch it of since it tries forever to unmount the card (I guess that is what it is doing).

I downloaded the GT9 4.0.4 ROM, but don not know how to proceed.
4.0.3 is reported to be installed with build ICS.g24_ref_40181.201220725
Help would greatly be appreciated,

scivaro

I suggest booting into recovery (hold back button and tap power), then perform a data/factory reset and wipe media which formats the sdcard.

Hi everyone,
I'd like to run Mr T.'s script but unfortunately my device is not recognized by my PCs. Neither XP nor 7 do.
Yes, I picked the port next to headphone port. USB debug is on. And I used PC's direct onboard USB port without hub or additional cord.

Can anyone please tell me how you made it happen to get your G9T's driver installed? Did you get the popup prompt as like on any other USB device?
Where can I find the driver?

My USB host port is not broken as I attached a thumbdrive.
