[SOLVED] Netflix Hangs during video

I have been very happy with the G9 until I tried to use Netflix streaming video. I downloaded the app from Google Market and installed the app without an issue. I am able to logon to Netflix, choose a video to stream, the video starts and at a random time the video hangs (freezes). I then have to go back to Netflix and re-start the video. The hangs can happen after a few minutes or take place 20+ minutes into the video. I always get multiple hangs while running the video (any video). Performance appears to NOT be an issue since the picture and sound are in sync and the video looks great until the hang happens. I have seen hangs after the buffering message appears but most times I do not see any buffering message when it hangs. When the device hangs, I see that there is activity on the network indicator but the screen stays frozen until I re-start the video.

Before I start messing with firmware, scripts, etc, I would like to know if Mr. T or other members of the forum can help me with this problem. I have run Mr. T's script and the device is rooted. Firmware information is as follows:

Model Number - GT-I9100
Android Version - 4.0.3
Baseband Version - V4.10
Kernel Version - 3.0.8 lzy-desktop#10
Build Number Gemei G9 - Samsung I9100 Market

Any help would be appreciated....

I guess it is good to know that my problem with Netflix is not unique. I agree that being able to get Netflix to run properly would greatly enhance this tablet. One of the major reasons I bought the G9 was to be able to stream videos.
I hope that there is someone out there in G9 land that can help us with our Netflix problem.
Mr T, anyone, need some help...

We're having similar problems with the Zenithink tablets running 4.0.3 so it's not isolated to your tablet.

After spending some time on the Internet, I found out that you can control the quality of the Netflix video. You can choose "good, better or best" depending upon your Internet provider's speed. I live in the country and use DSL so I do not have the fastest Internet speed. Unfortunately I did not see anything about video quality when I downloaded the Netflix App and could not find any information when running the app (no way to look at my profile/account). I had to go to Netflix.com, login to my account, pull up my profile and then change the video quality (you must logout of the Netflix app to change the video profile). I changed the video quality from what it was (not sure what value it was set for originally when I downloaded the Netflix app) to "good" video. Then I started the Netflix app, pulled up a movie and was able to stream the video without any issues. I was very happy with the video quality and the sound and video were in complete sync. I am using the G9 to stream the video to my TV via HDMI....

It looks like Netflix was sending data too fast for the DSL connection to handle it. By slowing down the data, everything (DSL, my own network and the G9) worked perfectly.

With this issue resolved, I am so happy that I bought the Gemei G9. I have been able to download apps without problems with the one exception so far, Google Earth, that still does not run.

I apologize for bringing up the Netflix issue. I should have done more homework. Thanks for those who replied.

I can run the Netflix app fine on my Android 2.2 tab (Elocity) and my 2.3 tab (Renesas OPAD) but not on my 4.0.3 tab (ZT282 C71 1024mb M3) and I believe a lot of the Zenithink owners running ICS are having the same issue (runs fine, then stops - logic mechanics have been explained on another thread)

I don't want to set my Netflix streaming down to the lowest value as we use it on the big screen TV with no problems and I'm not watching films on my tablet.

I'm sure the problem will solve itself in a few ROMs.

I don't think that that is my issue, I am using cable internet with really good bandwidth. I think it may be related to ICS, i can stream just fine on all my other devices (iphone, wii, xbox, mid815 tablet, etc.). I hope that someone will provide a solution to this issue as I really enjoy streaming movies with my tablet.
