Anyone got the chance to try it out? Any feedback?
I'm on 0808 (with some garbage apps cleaned out myself using Titanium Backup pro), it runs good so far, but thinking of installing this to see if it runs even better... just wondering if there are any major opt-in reasons in there.

Thanks
Marc

So I gave it a shot and flashed my ZT-180 with this new rom from Zenithink...

At first I thought I had done this for nothing, since the ROM version shown in System/About is the same as the 0808 build (which, by the way, mysteriously disappeared from Zenithink's download page...).
But I continued on restoring my apps and settings on this new build and it seems, so far, that overall the system performs and responds better than with the previous rom version (which, I believe, was numbered 0926 on the download page - again, it's gone now, in favor of this 1126 version).

It also seems to me than the touch screen sensitivity was improved. I find myself not having to rely so much on a stylus anymore for scrolling, and finger taps usually get caught on first attempt, which was not my case with other roms I have tried so far on this device.

Still, I've been running this only for little over an hour now, so this is very early feedback. But thought I'd post right away since it's overall positive.

There are two negative comments from russian users about the ROM: the tablet immediately firmly stuck when they turn WiFi on.
One user gave Model#: zt180102ASTRA1231S6, blue board.
Other user gave Build Number: zt180-eng AOSP OPENMASTEReng.root.20110304.120935test-keys
Is it possible that the ROM is applicable only for G2 boards, manufactured after April 2011 ?

Could be, I didn't try it because I have a G0 board and the ROM filename says G2_J2, and I don't have a "F" model....

Also since I've been using the 0613/0618 ROM, I haven't had any problems with the tablet (knock on wood), and I haven't flashed it since and it's stil working smoothly for me....

I've tried recently this rom and have to say that it is totally awesome compared to others I've tried so far.

So apps used to get stuck constantly, now, everything seem to run Smooth. Only thing I've observed is that Fruit Ninja autocloses after loadind the welcome screen.

Touch seems to be softer, and in general terms, smoother in terms work speed

Only think I could not understand so far

For 512MB RAM Versions:

G0 stands for ePAD with Blue board
G2 has two versions both stand for ePAD with Green Boards but with different audio chipsets es8988 and es8388
And finally H0 that stands for a "METAL" Cover... and Green Board.

In this last case, I cant understand exactly the difference between a G2 and H0, since I've not seen a Zenithink with "METAL" Cover and no-Metal cover to know the difference. Are there any Images to confirm which Zenithink ePAD do I have??? I believe my cover is made of plastic... but the backside, looks like metal... but sounds like plastic, cant really know the difference if maybe is a kind of lightweight metal, at least, has a metal grey color...

Just want to add over my previous post that the only thing I've seen not necessarily improved with this new rom is the freezes I get when I start updating several apps from Android Market. It seems to freeze quite easily, I will get a lot of "app not responding" messages, if I wait and choose not to kill, eventually it comes back to normal, but overall operating several market downloads in parallel is very sluggish at best.

But I doubt the rom has anything to do with ? Could it be that the shipped version of market is old and buggy?

Anyone tried installing a more recent version of Market (or Play Store as they call it now) on this rom and had any success?

Hi, I want to start new topic, but I cant. Maybe because I'm newbie?

so the story is my friend just give me his old tablet, and I think its zt180 v2.

But, the touchscreen isn't working in some area, and screen calibration always failed.

should I update new firmware? or its because faulty touchscreen?

Thanks for respond.

What ROM is it running now?

What does the model # on the barcode sticker say?

Can you explain more on how the touchscreen isn't working? What if you use your fingernail tip, or a stylus meant for a resistive screen?

OK... So you are using the 0613 ROM for the ZT-180 v2 10" tablet.....

So the top quarter of the tablet's touchscreen isn't responding....

Are you using your finger, or your fingernail or resistive stylus?

Have you tried the Dev tools/pointer location app? Does it register any reponse in that area? If it does, it's not a fixable hardware problem, if it's jumpy it can be fixed with some build.prop tweaks....

Resistive touch screens are really hard to determine software or hardware problems....

I beleieve I ruined my Original ZT-180 10" tablet's touchscreen when I tried to remove the bubbles under the screen protector, and kept pushing down hard to move the bubbles out to the edge.... Removing the touchscreen screen protector, which in turn pulled the layers of the resistive touchscreen apart, helped a bit, but the touch response in my opinion was too horrible to deal with, which s why I use either a USB mouse, or a USB presentation pointer/mouse remote with it now....

For things in the status bar, or near the edges, I find it better to press down on the black border and slide to what I want to press....
