If it works with the Gemei G9, create a thread under the firmware section and just make sure to notate it correctly as a modified firmware and use at your own risk.

Thanks Mr T,

I am currently looking to buy my first tablet and have my eye on this one in terms of spec & price.

One thing that interests me from the photos is the space around the battery, with 3.7v 11200mA lipo's starting to come onto the market, there may be room to improve on the (already generous) stock battery.

Nice find on that firmware, I'm excited to get it onto my device...

What are the steps for flashing though. I don't think I have cwm on my gemei and I don't know how to get it. Also a Android backup would be great but that will come with cwm I suppose.

Has anyone managed to get this onto their device? Tassel? Can we confirm that the touvhscreen driver matches the one in the stock g9 ics not the momo11 ics

It looks like only a 7000 mAh battery . Was hoping for 7800 mAh as some sites have reported.

EDIT: According to the ployer website, the Momo 11 Bird has a 7800 mAh battery, that makes these two devices different. Perhaps not in SoC but the ployer is going to have a decent bump in run-time if it indeed has an extra 800mAh under the hood.

Does anyone have any suggestions about repairing the screen? I dropped the tablet last night and now I just get lines across the screen. I plugged in the hdmi to check that all else is well so it is just the screen that is not working. I took the back cover off to see if there was anything obviously loose but didn't see anything. I'm in the U.S. if that makes a difference. With my luck it would probably be cheaper o just order another one than get it repaired. It cost me $230 so if there is something I can do that would be cheaper I am all ears.

Have you already tried to reseat the flat ribbon cables?

Chatted with SOC and they gave me the option to send it back to them and they will check it out. If it is a flaw then they will replace it, if not then they will repair it for free so the only thing I will be out is shipping charges. I guess that's better than having to buy a new one. Just have to find a good price shipping it to them.

I believe they generally prefer you to use whoever your national carrier is. Just to be on the safe side.

Well it has been a long month but I just got my tablet back today. They sent me a new one so that was cool. Looks like they are shipping with V4.15.00_CHS now.

Hey Guys,

As an industrial product designer my nature is a curious one Yesterday i opened my black-back-covered Gemei G9 (ordered 1 april at MeriMobiles) to see if i could fix the little movement which the back cover suffers from. I did so by sticking IKEA floor protectors ( These, all tough i have square ones) on edge of the tablet like you can see below.



It was a little bit hit and miss, but the 3th time around i managed to get rid of almost all the movement (it still does give a little in the areas where there was no room to stick the floor protectors because of electronic components) Best thing is to cover as much as open space as possible. Take care how ever not to stick them on the back of the screen. I do have some pressure distortion at the edges of the screen as a result of this "fix" but it's only light and only visible when the screen is completely black (like when booting) and your in a dark room.

I also made some pictures highres pictures of the electronics, doesn't tell me much but perhaps it's interesting for the experts, as i do see mine differs from the one MrT owns. Put then in a Picasa Webalbum

BTW i'm running the Eken A90 ROM + MrT's Root and fixed the volume buttons. It's the most stable ROM for my G9 so far. And for the people who are experiencing problems installing some apps, try bring the CPU back to 960MHz while installing them.

if I dare to open the tablet (it's moving in the shell so maybe the ikea pads suggested on the last post in this thread is something I might to try?) - I'd like to check the position of wifi antena cause this could be the reason for the bad wifi reception on my tablet... where can I find a picture of the antena - so I am not trying to move something else?

Realtek RTL8188CUS is a very standard chip, it is used A LOT in all sorts of electronics.
You have a 99.9% chance that your computer contains a realtek chip, either audio, ethernet, wifi or something elso.
Chinese manufacturer's don't have to cut corners if it uses such a popular chip. It is cheap already
