Is the 4.0.3 on the Ainol site better than the stock 4.0.1 for the Paladin? Does it have access to the Android Market? and can I install facebook?

I bought my N7P a month ago for my 7 year old son.
Recently I updated to ICS 4.0.3 from official ainol site.

Follow the instructions:
put the update.zip folder into micro SD card
switch off your N7P
press power button and volume + at the same time
as soon as 1st green Android logo appears release power button, but keep pressing volume +
after ainol logo appears release volume + button
wait about 5 minutes to install update to 4.0.3
N7P reboots itself voila! welcome to your new looking tablet, to me it's faster than 4.0.1.
Then change all the settings, e.g. language, Wi-fi, uninstalling Chinese apps, etc.
To watch video about how to update: http://www.ainovotab...video-tutorials

Last but not least; install Magic Code app to be able to install and play ARM base apps on your Paladin.

To update Flash Player, go to this site it says Flash_11_ICS_test
believe me it is a smooth operator. After I install I watch all youtube videos easy, play talking tom cat no problem.

ENJOY YOUR PALADIN!!!____________________________________________________

Anybody interested in playing Android Apps on Windows?
Try BlueStacks App Player Beta

It's a great idea, google eventually will buy this company, however I believe
this will turn out the hackers playground, and security will be huge issue.
Let's wait and see...

Many Chinese tablet companies only offer support and firmware in Chinese. So, you have to do your best to get around. Also, they will use Chinese file sharing sites for storing the firmware.

Use http://translate.google.com to help you out.

Here is latest firmware releases for Ainol tablets.

Paladin=Knight with Google translate??? Careful. Lots of Novo 7 firmwares because many different models. Choose the right one for you.

Notice their site offers no English. =(

*MINIX NEO X5 (RK3066) - OK. Not fun because uses mouse cursor.
*YUANDAO N80 DUAL (RK3066) - Very good
*CUBE U30GT (RK3066)- Defective; buttons broke in 2-3 weeks; Bad quality control!!! I will never buy a Cube again!!! - Very good while working
*WOPAD I7 (RK2918)- About OK. Sluggish because has weaker ARM chip (RK2918) & less RAM (512 MB).

I have used the Paladin for over 3 months.
Never update to 4.0.3
I have seen some thread in other forums talking about the update.
There are many versions about Paladin.
But they all have their disadvantages.
For example, The wifi improved in the 0213 version, but the support of 1080P video is not as good as the 4.0.1
More apps can used used in 0418 version, but the opening of the tablet takes longer.
So whether to update or not depend on your need !
This is my personal suggestion !

I have updated latest ICS 4.0.3 from ainol's official site. It seems OK and also english, no need to change settings.

Well, I got a new question, since ICS is the latest OS, still yet a lot of games and apps do not work with it. To me GB 2.3.6 is
still the best OS for AnDroid. Anyways, anyone experienced with downgrading from ICS to GB at all? I searched some and
found ODIN software and it's kinda complicated. ( I found official HoneyComb 3.2 from ainol, tried...but did not like either)

How about some games (my son is bugging me install Temple RUN for example)? How can I install and run on ICS?
Some apps can be installed and don't run either. Is it because OS or MIRP chipset which Paladin comes with?
Thanks for your answers.
