Hi there again all,
smithmal has requested a WiFi strength test on the Gemei G9.
I had a similar request for the Aurora that I ran comparison test between some other tablets similar to this article:
http://m.androidcent...test-how-bad-it
I have added the Gemei G9 to my previous sample pool of six tablets: (you can find specs using the links in my signature)
Gemei G9 (running MOMO11 bird 4.0.3 v0.9)
Ainol Novo 7 Aurora (running Android 4.0.1)
Ainol Novo 7 Advanced
Ramos W6HD
Herotab MID816R2
Wopad i8
HP Touchpad (Android Side)
The router I am using is:
Verizon FIOS - Actiontec MI424WR-GEN2 Hardware Version F
It is configured in B/G/N mode and located under my desk near the front/window wall.
Here is the layout of the router location and wireless test points:
I will set all the devices facing the same direction and spot for each point.
This should be enough data to get an accurate read on WiFi performance compared to other tablets.
If there is a specific tablet (from my list below) that you feel should be in the comparison, please let me know.
Results: (closer to zero is better)
Looking at the results and general performance the Gemei G9 takes great marks in the "Chinese" tablets.
It was only beat by the "Retail" HP Touchpad which is also a 9.7".
Hope this is helpful/answers some questions.
Thanks
Tasselhof
