grab aurora CWM file from http://files.androta...10_recovery.zip

unzip the cwm zip to your sd card (using file explorer or root explorer) and then use terminal program on aurora and type these commands

su
cd /sdcard
sh install-recovery.sh

basically su gets superuser permission, then cd /sdcard changes the directory to the sd card where the install-recovery.sh file is. running sh install-recovery.sh will run the install-recovery script file which will copy the recovery img to the /data folder

then just shutdown the normal way and start up with back&power - you will now see the CWM console which has blue text and more options. if you are seeing green text, you dont have CWM installed

you can use CWM to install CWM images which you download from wherever of your choosing, these are zip files.

Thank you Con for the instructions, this should definately be pinned!

You can also:

1. Download novo7 tools from
http://115.com/file/anjevc1m
https://dl.dropbox.c...otools_v1.0.apk http://www.4shared.c...votools_v10.htm

2. Download and unzip the recovery.img from the file in op to the root of your internal sd card

3. In Novo7 tools pick flash recovery under rom manage

4. Pick reboot into recovery

You should now have clockwork mod recovery on your device. Remember to do a backup before you start messing around in cwm!

Posted this earlier - should be helpful for newbies. 'the-razar' from xda has made a nice install script for Clockwork mod recovery for the aurora. This is what I used to get cwm installed when trying the genokolar modified rom with updated touchscreen drivers - http://forum.xda-dev...1378594&page=34 link to script - http://www.mediafire...740mi4xm0bweb2c

This should be significantly easier to install. Please read his post on the linked xda thread.

PS; I did manage to install genokolar's modded rom without clockwork mod recovery using his novo-tools apk. I guess it works with the standard Novo recovery.

Awesome!! Thanks, just updated. Just to let anyone know, Keep the new n7ess-aurora-v0.8a-cwm.zip as it is on the SD Card. I updated by copying the n7ess-aurora-v0.8a-cwm.zip to the internal memory and then following Con's instructions.

If all goes well, you should see the CWM screen:
Posted Image
Power Button = Select
Vol Up = Up
Vol Down = Down
Back = Go Back

Thanks to Kun for the ROM update.

Thank you for providing detail instruction to install "Clockwork Mod Recovery" and "novo7 tools"

I have a newbie Question regarding the step on “SU” ?

Do those instructions work only if yours Aurora has been previously rooted? (with root script or buy installing clean ROMs)

I.e. not from factory ROM.

Yes su in terminal requires root but i believe all releases including oem rom have root so that should not be an issue.

It should work but due to the paladin having a mips processor it may be coded specifically for mips, it shouldnt hurt to try it though.
Heres a link for another one http://db.tt/o5b2VOU9.

Yes when you install through livesuit it will replace cwm recovery with the stock recovery unless the rom maker cooks cwm into the .img.

So to sum things up if you install with livesuit you must do one of these procedures again to get cwm back.
