- Fixed Wifi network location
- Added volume soft key buttons (Will remove if people don't like)
- Changed accelerometer coordinate system from "special" to "default" (seems to work better with most games)
- No more overclocked version, use the included app "CPU master" to change your CPU speed. If there is a high demand for an overclocked version then I will make one.
- Left in the stock Launcher this time, you get to choose which Launcher you want to use on the first boot.

Slight modification of OFW 4.0.3v9 with the following changes:
- Chinese stuff removed
- Rooted (properly with Superuser)
- Full Gapps (except face unlock because it wouldn't work)
- Nova Launcher
- Overclocked to 1152MHz (1008MHz version also available)
- Preinstalled apps: Google Music, Titanium Backup, Chrome Beta
- Other small tweaks (/ and /system mounted rw, created busybox symlinks, etc)
More will come as I learn about the device

Great to see a new customized rom based on the latest official.

One question i have is does this rom mount the external microsd (extsd) with read/ write permission. With essential v0.6, i can type something with Jota text editor and then save my work to the external microsd (extsd). Previous official roms from Ainol, I can only save my work to the internal sd then later use root explorer to copy the file to my microsd (extsd). If i wanted to save to extsd directly from my jota text editor, I have to format my microsd to exFAT file system. The problem is if i were to pull out my microsd and plug it into my other older tablets, the older tablet cannot access exfat file system.

With Essential v0.6, there is full read / write permission for microsd even if the microsd is formatted with fat32 file system.

I just checked and yeah I don't have write permission to the extsd.
I'll fix it in the next release.

Just installed this ROM (after scratching my head how to do it, a google search helped me) and it seems to work pretty nice, fast and responsive. A couple of issues i've noticed so far is that not all apps are available from the market (Facebook, twitter, etc) and Skype doesn't seem to work very well (echos from external speaker, and video never loads). Any idea what could be causing this? Would really love to be able to install apps such as Facebook.

Changing the build.prop will fool the market into thinking this is a different device with many more choices available. The Automod tool from topnotchtablets is quite good. http://www.topnotcht....com/ElfAutomod

I'm not sure if anyone has Skype working properly on the latest ICS. It has been suggested that older versions work best. The echo issue is best solved with headphones, as the mic tends to feed back from the speakers.

The automod tool you linked appears to be for gingerbread (2.3.4). Not sure if it will work on ICS? Should I try it anyway?

Just installed the 1008 version. Well done, sir! I think I am finally happy with my elf. It came with 4.0.1 stock and was terrible. I installed Gingerbread and the topnotch mods and it was pretty good. Came across this fine ROM and decided to try it out. Everything just works. Market, games, flash, netflix... everything I have tried so far has worked. Runs smooth and the battery seems to be holding out nicely. Thank you!

Really look forward to your next release. Having the microsd (FAT32 formatted) mounted with full read / write permission is very important to me.

Sorry about pointing you to the wrong thing. The script you ran should have done the trick.

Have a look on the "about device" on the tablet. It should appear to be a GT-I9100 if the new build.prop was pushed.

You need to reboot for the new settings to work.

I also noticed some apps missing from the Market with this latest Ainol build, even with the SII fingerprint.

Still trying to figure out why.

This rom is the best so far,the only thing is skype video is not working even the old versions
