Looks like those files work... you just have to remove everything what you not need then "ADB ROOT, ADB PUSH system /system".
Looks like root works too :D

Edit: market recognize the device as "VIMICRO Generic_vortex" now.
Edit2: market works but not download anything

Its for the flash tool. But anyway it just a big update from 2.3 to 4.0 so I recommend to wipe all. :)

P.S.: Still couldn't get working the market downloads. :(

OK thanks!! :)
I'll try and find some kind of "trial and error" fix for the market once I've flashed it

Great news! What can you say about performance? Is it faster/slower than 2.3?

This is fantastic. A big thanks to the efforts of the author. I tried the firmware and it seems to me that is faster than 2.3 and got better video spins. I tried to install market.app, but crashes at startup. I returned the old firmware.
I noticed the following deficiencies:
- Charging light does not light (it does not bother me)
- Volume Control not working
- Market does not work
Maybe there is something else, but I have not had time to investigate.
In any case, thanks motherofallbattles

I havnt tried this out yet but this is Known bugs from Google

Market cannot download and Google Talk login failed to fix this, go to manage application and do clear data for :

Download
Google Backup Transport
Google Services Framework
Google Talk
Reboot

Does this solve the market problem?

Is it just the hard buttons on device thats not working?

Android 4.0 does not support physical buttons. On my other tablet running ics we had to use button remapper. Google states that future
devices made for ics and jellybean will all have virtual buttons.

I'm going to try the latest gapps from here http://goo-inside.me/gapps
There is one dated a few days ago and includes updated framework which may help with market issues.
Maybe button remapper will help as already posted by porkysatan.
I'll let you know how it goes.
EDIT: this looks interesting too http://www.slatedroi...307#entry232307

If your tablet doesn't see the SD card partition, that is because you didn't format the SD partition after flash. I had the same problem before.

I reflashed and it was ok after that. Can't get root though :(
