I can CONFIRM it is 10PT Multi-Touch
Fruit Ninja appears to only support 5.
Here is my quick and dirty review:
Quote
Overall it seems like a nice solidly built device.
It has all the needed hardware specs to be great.
The biggest downfall right now just appears to be ICS and it's lack of optimization in just about every category.
The 5MP camera is a nice addition, but suffers a bit from the same issue of almost all of these cameras... dark live view images. The actual pictures come out a bit lighter than what is shown on the screen.
I still have a lot more "discovery" to do with the Gemei, but the screen is great being 9.7" IPS 1024x768.
The device is very sleek/thin feeling... reminds me a LOT of the feel of the Aurora, only it is bigger, a bit heavier, and a metal/aluminum back instead of plastic.
It really is a slick looking tablet... I am just hoping for either a gingerbread firmware option (for those that need complete and total performance) or continued refinement of the Ice Cream Sandwich firmware.

I am looking forward to your upcoming review
and I think the front camera is 1.3m, not 0.3m.
I agree and have made the change.
I also notified Merimobiles to make the change on their site.

Battery seems pretty strong, but I haven't used it all that much.
The back panel is a metal/aluminum and is/gets cold to the touch.

So I woke up nearly in the middle of the night and figured... why go back to sleep... I should do the Gemei G9 review as there have already been too many delays, in my opinion
So that's what I did.
the video has been recorded and edited.
I am encoding it now then it will get uploaded to YouTube.
Hopefully it should be available for public consumption in about 3 hours or so.
If you want to be the first to know when it is ready, head on over to my channel and hit the subscribe button.
Otherwise, I will post to here later this morning after it is completed and ready.
Thanks!

I can also confirm it is 10PT Multi-touch even though fruit ninja only showed/supported 5.
I tested using the ICS Developer options of show touches and it showed all 10 fingers/thumbs.

Very nice review and again you have covered all the points very well. It looks like a very competent tablet.
My only dilemma now is whether the 8Gb version is worth 10 uk pounds more than a Teclast A10t.
It has the advantage of the 5mp camera and better battery but Teclast is surely a better known and trusted company
Any chance of you reviewing a Teclast A10t anytime soon?
Thanks again
Jez

Probably not... as Merimobiles already has a review for that product... I believe by Colonel Zap who is (from what I have seen) their other go to reviewer of devices.

nice work again mrt do you have any info about the battery life?
Battery life has actually been really good.
I don't think in my using it so far that I have ever gone critical on battery, but I also haven't tested it as thoroughly as a daily user.
It seems to me that it has great battery life from the use I have used and when it is powered off, I haven't come back to a dead device a couple days later.

Ok except that if you look at Colonel Zap's video review it's for the older Rockchip version of the tablet.
Looking at the comments from people on Merimobiles it looks like they got the two tablets confused as the details show the Allwinner based tablet but the video is for the Rockchip one.
This is actually a common mistake and I do have to wonder what Teclast were thinking calling the two devices such a similar name. Even now Meri have the name as "A10 tPad".

I don't know if you've been able to open up the tablet and look at it under the hood, but do you know if the internal memory soldered in, or can it be removed and replaced (like what individuals did with the old M816). I'd rather not pay extra to go from 8GB to 16GB when I can buy at 32GB on my own for cheap.

Well... per your request... I just finished dissecting my Gemei G9.
I can tell you that it is Flash based and not MicroSD... so buy the size you want/can live with up front.
I took pictures and will post them to a separate thread later.

Do not buy from Seller Peonyliu.LTD (Peonyliu)from DHGate. I ordered a 250$ Gemei G9 tablet and received a cheap unsusable knock off. He refuses to refund and now I have disputed with Paypal (thank god I payed with paypal).

I think you got the OEM version of the Gemei G9...
I have heard a lot of problems with the JXD S9000, which is also a version of the OEM version of the Gemei G9/MOMO11 bird.
You should read the jxd s9000 thread under 'All other A10 tablets'
