some of y'all may already know but I've been looking into this and I still think that my original post is valid. The one I deleted a few weeks ago.

Adfree or Adway routinely replace the Host file on a device when there is an update. What I haven't figured out is why either of these apps can't write to the SuperNova to replace/update the hosts file.

The solution is to do it manually. What happens is that apps/browsers refer to the hosts file and if an Ad service is listed...it will block the ads. Its not perfect as its near impossible to know all/every ad service out there. So far as I've tested it it works on my SuperNova as well as it does my android phone

LINK to file. http://db.tt/r8lHK16p (extract It before replacing)

Replace the host file on you tablet with it using Root Explorer or the like found in /etc or /system/etc.

Hi,

I am a noob so please bear with me... I tried to copy this host file and didn't have any success... When I view the etc and the system/etc folders on my Supernova I cannot delete or replace them. When using RootExplorer the "hosts" file has a gold star in the lower left corner. When I try to change permissions I get an error message saying some system files cannot be changed. I have rooted the tablet (or at least I think I have) and I have been able to make other file changes using rootexplorer and es file explorer - but this "hosts" file seems to be un-editable... any help would be appreciated.
