Are the lightspot pixels very noticeable?
A company is selling the Auroras but explicitly state that they have lightspots problems. From what I read, it doesn't seem to be a big annoyance. So I am thinking to pick up one if I can negotiate a better deal.

I just want to report that after using it for a day, the line split half the screen has disappeared! So it could be caused by battery heating up.

Actually that sounds quite likely. But that sounds like one hell of a defect

I got mine earlier this week from Gadgetgreat. It took 8 days to get to CA, USA. The corner of the box was crushed but inside content seemed okay. One defective pixel toward lower center area above ainol logo but doesn't really bother me since I expected it. For years, I have had pretty bad luck with anything that is computer related and has lcd screen so~ (about 40% of the time, believe it or not) Anyway slight gap on the left side just like everyone else but not that noticeable. Buttons are loose and makes noise. Doesn't seem to be any kind of noise/shock absorption mechanism. Simple rubber would have done it but oh well. There were finger prints on the screen under the protective plastic cover. Used? Refurb? Or just quality control? At least the screen is bright and clear almost like my kindle fire. Under the setting, however S/N shows up as unknown. Language was set to English but under setting/device info, Japanise IME was pre-selected can't unselect and display is in Korean. Hmmm... What could be the cause of all this? HDMI output works great. I originally ordered this for myself and was going to give me 6 year old son my kindle fire as present but I guess he is getting the Aurora now. I don't think he'll complain too much since screen is bright and Angry bird works on it.

I noticed another split at about 1/4 on the right, again showing on the grey color. If it doesn't go away in like a few days, I might just call it in and have it replaced.

My Aurora 8GB becomes very hot after a few minutes of use. I had USB debugging as well as 2D Hardware Acceleration checked.

I have reduced the screen brightness, cancelled USB debugging and also enabled 2D acceleration, now it is lesser but still very warm.

Does anyone have the same issue ? Or is it Normal ? It is hot/verm warm on the backside towards left ie the side that has the charger point or SD card etc.

I charged it overnight to a full, it didn't get heated at all, not even warm. It gets very warm/hot only after 10 minutes of use.

Any ideas ?

It seams to be a common behavior. Mine is also getting very hot, especially with Android Kun's 0.6 ROM, mostly after a few minutes of using it and at a very small degree when charging. Also the battery life is worst for me with the 0.6 ROM.
