Ainol Aurora problems Defective screen and gap between screen and case problems

Hello,

In short: I ordered 2 pcs of Aurora from Spemall on 13.02 and received them on 20.02. Both have problems with the case consisting in a visible gap on the left side (where the connections are). Also both of them had at least one dead pixel visible on every color. Worst is that the one i kept ... has a band of white spots in the upper side when kept horizontally that are visible only on the black color. I attached some pictures to show you.

As I read that many received their tablets in good conditions, I can only guess that, with my extreme luck, i received a bad lot.

hey,

could you add some kind of serial number so we can see, when the device is build? this should help to sort the bad out.

I guess this means that the manufacture date si 2012.02.08

I think it means it's the 007408th Aurora built of the 8gb model
Mine is a 16gb model, 1515th one (1202016G001515)
What the 12020 means I'm unsure but it's a identical to mine so don't think it's a coincidence.

Did you write back to Spemall regarding these defects alongwith pics so that they can send you replacement ?
It will be time-consuming process, but hopefully u will be more satisfied as they wouldn't make same mistake twice and would do a better quality check before sending the replacement.
Also, they should pay you for the sending back courier charges.
Ofcourse, all above is a suggestion incase you have problem with device and if it's really bothersome. Just bad luck.
I haven't received mine yet; it has reached Singapore as of today. :D Hoping to receive it by Friday. Will write feedback about my tab piece build quality here once I get hands on it. :)

Wow, that is a HUGE gap... did these units skip the QC? Seeing these problems I doubt there is any... Also the screen looks really bad :( Hope mine won't arrive like that.

I received mine with two dead pixels on the left upper corner, loud charger and unglued front glass thing.
But hey... for 170$ with DHL shipping included + a stupid case.. I expected really crappy, laggy thing that would struggle browsing.
I took some glue and fixed the front glass problem, I am using my htc charger, flashed to 4.0.3 ics and run some script from almaz and this thing is flying and is one REALY great device as it is now. All the plastic used on the device seams really solid.

That gap is shocking, looks like the ainol qc department just slap a sticker on a throw it thru.
My seriel number starts the same but ends 4169

Hope you get yours sorted

What sort of crap is Ainol producing here that is shocking quality! Seems to me they are just throwing them together. I am trying to get a refund from Panderwill that I ordered as there are to many people now with units like this. I know sometimes you say for what you get but that is totaly unacceptable!

I have not addressed Spemall with the issues I'm having. I think I will wait a little while to see if any other problems appear. To make things better another dead pixel has just appeared that is visible on every color. Other than that, I must admit that the tablet is great for the price.

About the QC from Ainol it must be really crap, as my tablet had 2 of these stickers with "Ainol QC passed".

does spemall have a returning policy in case of defective products? are they replacing the product or refunding the money?

If a remember correctly they offer 1 year warranty.

Your SN is really close to mine (made the same day but earlier with aprox 200 tablets). It seems that you got lucky. The gap is obvious on my tablet, so if you don't see it on your's, it's ok.

Try using ES task manager application - screen checker, to search for screen problems. Mine has problems on black.

Right couldn't wait so!
Yes I can see the gap now that I have removed the plastic film.
Ran screen checker no pixel problems! (more important than a gap I think)
But there is a tiny piece of dust on the screen under the plastic in the upper right corner!
Annoying but not a deal breaker.

On further inspection I think the cut outs that are supposed to clear the mini USB and HDMI may be the culprit they are not clearing the connectors and thus the case is pushed outwards. Maybe take outer case off clear round with small file and solve it!

i´ve received my spemall order today.
i have no gap but dead pixels too .. small colored line at the top of the screen :(
if your just using the tablet its not visible.

i´ll write the support later.

just ran screen checker - its only visible while displaying black.

Can you all test your SD slots for comparison?

What is your serial number? And when did your ordered from Pandawill?
Looks like that the sellers are sending that defective batch to the customers to diminish the pressure for delieveries... :/
