Thanks Markf74, this is a great help. I think I'll get there.
Using ClockworkMod_Recovery_EN_2012_03_08 and holding the buttons, the machine booted to the recovery window with the 6 options;
-reboot system now
-instal zip from sd card
-wipe data/factory reset
-wipe cache partion
-backup and restore
-mounts and storage
-advanced
I ran the "reboot system now" cmd but it still goes into an endless boot cycle. Have I run the wrong cmd? Do I run the cmd with the USB still connected? At this stage, I would be happy just to take it back to "factory reset".
If I can't get it soon, it's OK as I'll take it to my son this weekend and he should be able to sort it for me and see where my "senior's moments" have led me,
Many thanks

Glad your getting there, download the cleanrom v9 and copy it to an
sdcard put that in the device and choose wipe user data then in advanced I think choose wipe davlik cache then choose update zip from sdcard and select the file you downloaded with cleanrom v9 fingers crossed when you reboot you should be back with a nice new android install which boots. Worked for me.

Hello sir, may i know what are the other steps in unbricking the aurora using the 30seconds power on? I just press it for 30 seconds then my aurora will be restored? That's it? Because i saw a couple of post that they just press the power on for 30 seconds and then their aurora is restored.

Is there any more info about how to achieved this? LiveSuite? USB Cable? Firmware? is this will be involved? What is the procedures?

thanks a lot...
