For the price its alright, its not great tho
top buttons rattle and the left side of the screen moves if you push it, a creaking noise has also started on that side of the screen.

Apart from that happy with it the screen is brilliant and plenty fast enough for what I do on it.

It would be helpful if you could provide the retailer where you purchase your tablet.

The Aurora has a known issue with regards to the ips screen not fitting properly earlier in their manufacturing process.
I believe the issue has been resolve now. I believe some reputable retailers have been doing QA on their items and the cause of delay of release.
People should be wary that some dubious retailers may be taking advantage of the high demand and selling products which has not pass QA.

I will be receiving my Aurora(purchased from pandawill) maybe tomorrow or early next week. I will providing input of the quality when it arrives.

Black 16Gb model delivered in UK around 20-Feb. Several black specks underneath glass screen; Poor fit between glass edge and plastic bezel. Glimpses of the port components are visible through the gap. All physical keys loosely fitted and rattle if moved. The trouble with how to deal with these defects is what can one sensibly expect at this price point, so experiences from fellow owners are important.

8Gb Black model ordered 6 February and shipped to me on 22 (was on production), it hás the gap (e can see the ports) and poor fit between the glass and the cover. I have a "clunk" sound in the right side wen I press it. Keys are also loose.

Bought 8gb (black)from Spemall and received last Friday. Physical buttons rattle and right side/edge "squeaks" when pressed on but no visible gap between screen and plastic bezel. No issue(s) with light leakage or dead pixels. Considering the price, I'm happy with the purchase.

I have read a few posts on here that have me worried.

Having used the Elf for sometime now and the Aurora for a couple of days I wanted to share a quick thought/gripe.

The Aurora has a better screen and is a smidge thinner... It ends there.

The Elf has far superior build quality. I purchased 3 Aurora's for myself and 2 customers. One of them has a sizable gap between the edge and the front face. You can look down into it and see ports. The other two don't have this issue but cmon'

The Buttons feel ridiculous cheap, they rattle around like mad. the Button my my Elf look really good (engraved instead of printed on) and are "tight". NO RATTLE.

I still like the Aurora better but it is ALL the IPS screen. If the Elf had the same screen I would ditch the Aurora in a heartbeat.

Just my gripe about Ainol having piss-poor build quality on their "top end" product

I have yet to receive my Aurora (on route as we speak) but have seen some people have received the infamous ill fitted screen (the reason we are told they have shipped so slowly and late). Does yours exhibit this flaw or another? Is yours perfect in your eyes?

Hey, do you have any kind of problem like : Split bright, dead pixel, dust under screen, gap between back cover, loose fit button etc? I have heard from slatedroid(dot)com , that many people facing those problems. I have already ordered one pc for me! Now I am in big tension!!
