I guess they feel the under-10mm thickness will be a big selling point. Otherwise in pure numbers terms, the Aurora and the Elf are identical. It's probably easier for an uninformed customer to understand that one model has more or less of something than another, than to appreciate the benefit of an IPS screen.
Other things I have noticed that I like about the Aurora. The Camera is a bit nicer AND, the rotation sensor seems to be faster. Does an IPS screen take less power?
Just noticed something else wrong with another of the devices. It happened when I pulled a white screen up. I have dark areas along the bottom edge of the screen (like a big one in one corner and then all along the bottom) This is really disappointing. I think Ainol's quality control sucks. I have had issues with every single model I have ever gotten from them and it is always sporadic stuff. The Novo 7 Advanced was hell on earth as far as RMA's went but hell or not I took care of every single customer.

But it was expensive for me

. As soon as another manufacturer comes out with a similarly priced IPS 7" A10 tablet (same or better battery) I will jump the Ainol ship in a heartbeat. That is why I ended up going with the Momo 9 from ployer. It is SO much better than the Advanced and I have way less quality issues. I think Ainol just markets well and their devices look sexy so they sell.

EDIT: I am not saying the Aurora is a bad product. I am saying they have bad quality control so I get a lot of defective units.

And NO, those don't go to customers lol, they go back to my supplier.
